Com port says it needs drivers - Dell Dimension 8400 PC Desktop

This is a dot matrix printer made by TVS Electronics of India. It used the older parallel port interface (and had an optional serial interface). To hook it up, you'll need a PC with a parallel port, a parallel port cable and drivers. Most PC's no longer have parallel ports, so you'd need to add a parallel port card or use a USB to parallel port adapter. Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you
might see a yellow? ! question exclamation mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click to update driver.

in the device manager click on (ports lpt com) double click on belkin usb adapter the properties will open then click advanced ant set the com port. you will find the driver here https://www2.belkin.com/support/product/?lid=en&pid=F5U109&scid=1

I had this problem as well. I loaded the drivers for the USB to Serial Adapter and the drivers for the SiPix printer, left the adapter cable plugged in and rebooted my pc. After powering my PC back up I went back into the SiPix printer properties and another com port (5) showed up in the list of com ports. This was the port I needed and the printer woks great!! now your comport may be different depending on which USB port you have your SiPix connected to. This worked for me. Hope it helps you out!!

have you tried just plugging keyboard in..you have usually 2 ext ports one for ext keyboard and one for mouse you can also use usb keyboard/mouse.
if you have a problem with existing keyboard have you tried the on screen keyboard....start,all programs,accessories,accessability,on screen keyboard..when u say serial port do u mean the com port..
for com port you have to assign keyboard and you will need drivers cos not recognised as plug and play

There is no in built driver for USB to COM in windows. You need third party driver/software to do so. If you have any device with COM port interface that device might be shipped with supporting driver, please checkout.
