I can't pair my Motorola H700 to my Blackberry curve.

Have the same problem as many other people who posted. I can't pair my Motorola H700 to my Blackberry curve. The purple light stays on only a few seconds and the blackberry won't recognize the bluetooth device. I can't even get to the point where I have to enter a passcode. I've paired and used Motorola bluetooth headsets before without a problem. Can you help?

I just bought the Motorola H700 Bluetooth yesterday, I have the Blackberry Curve 8520. My problem is I hold down the connect button to wait for the purple light to come on, & it doesn't ?? This is really frustrating, it's fully charged, and I don't know what I should do ?

Passkey for bluetooth?

most bluetooth earpiece pass keys are 0000 or 000000. Hold the device power button down until the lights flash two colors, then locate device with the blackberry. Enter either of the two codes and see which works. Normally you can not change the code on the earpiece, but you can on the phones.

Purple light wont stay lit for pairing

Make sure the microphone is closed and the BlueTooth is off. Hold the button in until it turns purple. As soon as it does release the button and flip out the microphone. The purple light should stay lit all the time now. That is until the pairing process is done with the phone.

Pairing

The same way you did to your Razr. Make sure the H700s microphone are is in the off position. Push in and hold the button on the H700 until the light lights up purple. Release the button and quickly open the microphone button. The light will stay purple and you are now in "Pairing Mode". Now follow the instructions for your phone to pair with a BlueTooth unit. When it asks for a code, use 0000 (that is 4 zeros).

How to do pairing

Thank you. I called a 1-800 number for tech support but they told me I had to wait 14 days from the date of purchase before they could help me. Your suggestion was right on the money. Thank you.

Motorola H700 Problems with BB Pearl 8100

Steps to pair a H700 headset with any bleutooth pone:

  1. Make sure the H700 fully chared (very important)!!
  2. Make sure the microphone boom is folded closed, i.e. power is off!
  3. Hold the call button for 1-5 seconds until the light is steady lit purple
  4. Flip out the microphone boom, the light should stay lit purple!

Now you are ready to pair the headset with your phone, so follow the pairing instructions of your phone.

Note: When prompted for the Passkey; it is most likely 0000 but the correct Passkey should be on the headset accessory instructions.

I must add that indeed my headset on occation (once or twice every three months) also loses its connection with the blackberry (a 8703e) . At which time I have to remove the headset from my phone bluetooth device list, and start the above described steps to pair my headset with the phone again.
