The same happened once to my A-1. If I rememeber well, button popped out again after sliding the double exposure lever under the shutter lever and then winding the shutter. Hope this helps.

check the mechanism inside the film compartment, it may have a broken rewinding gear, if there's nothing broken clean the contact point inside the film compartment, use cotton buds and alcohol or fluid.

Your film is already rewound (if I understood you correctly). Your camera is beeping because the film is rewound and there is no film for the camer to take the photo on since it has been rewound.

The magnets that control the shutter are the likely suspect. Dirt and debris can cause them not to hold properly. Hence, it fires the shutter when you advance the film. It is something you can repair yourself. I can describe the procedure if you are interested.

I suspect you are getting that message as the aperture on the lens is not set to its largest number (ie 22). The camera needs that so that it can control the aperture opening in the exposure modes. Try setting that to the biggest number, then power the camera back on and hopefully you'll be back in business.
