On the Noma timer Mod 49550/tm151p how can you tell when the switch is on

1 Answer

A

Anonymous

1) Noma is old Intermatic brand name used by companies today to brand their timer.

2) Noma is usually associated with Woods timers.

3) Woods numbers also frequently start with 495 and with TM.
For example Woods has 49588 49556 and 78 84 29 28 62 57 33 53 65 44 68 32 77, but 49550 does not show

4) It is likely that you have a Woods brand timer.

5) Add a comment with in-focus photograph of timer for possible identification

6) Open following link to possibly identify timer, and then add a comment saying which timer is same-similar to yours.

MANUAL FOR NOMA TIMER MODEL NO 052-8805-4

This particular model is very easy. It is a NOMA 7-Day Mechanical Vacation Timer, Non-Programmable, Indoor timer.

turn the centre dial until the pointer is at the current time, set the switch at the top to 'Auto' and that is it. Plug it in, plug a device like a light into it and go on vacation. The timer switches the light on and off at somewhat random predetermined different times each day.

Contact Canadian Tire to request assistance. (Noma is sold by Canadian Tire.)

I couldn't locate that model number. You can use the Comment menu to add information to your question.

I have a noma 49550 and the timer let the turn on and the wheel spins as well but it doesnt shut off even with the pins and i dont know what the wheel at the top is for, is that the issue???? please help...

I don't have repair for defective timer.
The wheel at top is probably the issue. Move the wheel with your thumb and experiment with the timer.
As a general rule, the timer will not bite you.

Open following link for analog timer instructions:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-set-timers.html

My files show that 49550 is analog timer with trippers that install on timer dial.

I have extensive files on timers.
I don't recognize Noma 052-8814-2
Noma is an old Intermatic name that is now used by many companies to describe many models of timers.
There is wide bleed-over of timer names and designs across different manufacturers.

1) Please add a comment and post photo of your timer so I can match with existing manuals.
