My sanyo projector xu48 will not power up, it flashes its red light as if it was in cool down, then it goes to green for about one back minute, then it goes back into cool down mode, never does the lamp turn on, I have an extra bulb to test with, (old one that is dim) (same results) we also had a prolonged brownout recently but it has worked since then. With coaxing (and prayer) we can sometimes get it on. would this be a ballast?? thank you for your time.

Hey zrscott388, did you end up replacing the bulb and did that fix it? My Z1 is doing the same thing. I hate to spend 300-400 on a bulb and it doesn't work. The Z5 is going for 1100 new on Ebay. I rather do that than waste money. Please let me know.

Service and reinstall main PCB connectors and cables including sensors. check the lamp condition also.
