I have the Vtech cs6229-5 handset cordless phones. We have been using them for a little over a year with no problems. About two weeks ago I started noticing static on the line and it has gotten a little worse. It is on every line. We have a regular wall phone so we know it's not the line. Nothing has changed, no new electronics, etc. We have also tried unplugging all sets from the wall and unplugging all batteries and leaving them like that for 10 minutes and then plugging everything back in, but the static is still there, I would love to figure this out as we really enjoy these phones but it is getting hard to use them.

SOURCE: Not Registered

I had the same problem and this procedure fixes it! First, unplug the power to the main base (answering machine) for 20 seconds. Plus it back in. Put the phone that says "not registered" in the main answering machine. It will say "press the find handset for 4 seconds". Do that. It will run thru a series of stuff and will find the handset. It works! Rich (jambones.com)

SOURCE: Vtech phones loosing connection to base

You are pretty close to the solution. The problem is the charge detection in the handset. All handsets on a cordless phone detect the battery level with an hexadecimal value in the memory. Each hex value equal a volt value of the battery. EX: 3.5v = 9B
3.6v = 9C 3.7v =9D etc... The problem is the hex value in your defective handset are all mess up. So 9B is not 3.5v anymore. Then your handset could last 1hr after foul charge or doesn't alert you before the phone goes dead due to low BAtt.

SOURCE: Not Registered Problem

This worked for the 7100, hopefully it works for other models:

When the handset says "not registered", it should still have a "menu" option. Select that, then the only choice is "register", select Ok. Now it says "searching for base", press and *hold down* the "locate handset" button on the base until the handset beeps and wakes up. Docs say this could take up to 30 seconds (it was about 17 for mine).

SOURCE: new vtech phone model cs6229-3 headset keeps saying line in use

These phones look at the voltage on the line to determine if the line is in use.

Do you have any devices on the line that get power from the phone line? If so, they may be loading down the phone line causing this issue. If you have these types of devices on your line, try disconnecting those devices and see if the problem goes away.

Otherwise, your phone line may be defective. You may need to contact your phone company to get the problem resolved.

How can I setup forward call to my cell from VTECH DS6251-2

Call forwarding is an add-on feature provided by your telephone company for a fee. Contact the phone company. The V-Tech DS6521-2 has the option of transferring a call between handsets, not to a cell phone. This uses the intercom feature to call another handset. See page 18 of the manual for more information.

The manual for the phone is available on the product page: https://www.vtechphones.com/store/pd/4158/DS6251-2-2-Line-2-Handset-Cordless-Phone-with-Answering-System-Smart-Call-Blocker . I hope this helps.

Cannot make conference call does my phone has that facility model #CS6229-2

The VTech CS6229-2 - cordless phone has a two handset systems provide the convenience of operating two handsets using only one phone jack and one base station. The second handset simply needs an electrical outlet to plug into. These systems also allow you to transfer calls, conference an outside call or use the intercom feature between handsets.

We are having similar problem with vtech 5808

Install new batteries! Be sure to let them charge fully (overnite) before first use.

I have 5 of the i5808 expansion phones around my house - most about the same age - and they all started acting up ithin a few months of each other. I "experimented" with a new battery for one, and it solved the issue for that one phone...so I replaced the batteries in each of the others that were experiencing the problems. This was about 2 to 3 months ago, and all phones have been problem-free since the new battery installs!

Hope this helps.
