I have a Scotts Basic Rotary Spreader and I purchased Green Thumb weed and feed fertilizer. The fertilizer does not have the setting I have on my spreader, but does say 3.2# Rate. It is a 16 lb. bag that should cover 5000 square ft. So, what setting do I use?

What setting do i use for scotts Basic spreader?

Depends on the fertilizer you are going to use. There should be a table on the fertilizer bag showing the spreader and setting. If your spreader is not shown, select a spreader like yours for a setting. Watch how much coverage you get and adjust from there.

The recommended settings for your type of spreader should be listed on the package of the bag of weed and feed you have. There should be a rate chart on the bag. If not, put the setting on your unit on the middle setting, that way, you are not using too little and not using too much.
