Am unable to copy images to computer from my nikon s220..pls help:-(

Have you considered NOT connecting your camera to your computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Nikon s220 says file contains no image data when I try to review my pictures. They do show up on my computer when I put in my memory card.

When you remove your card from the computer, do you remember to use the "safely remove hardware" function? If not, you risk corrupting the card which is what probably happened.

Can i use the nikon coolpix s220 as a webcam?

No. The S220 is designed to store images and videos to memory, not to stream live video to another device.

I am trying to download pics from my Nikon coolpx to my IMac but iphoto does not recognize the camera - what do I need to do?

First, make sure that the Computer recognizes the Camera when connected to it using the USB cable.

When the computer recognizes the connected camera then a "No name" drive appears on the Desktop of the computer.

If the Computer is recognizing the Camera but iPhoto then follow the steps given below to transfer images from the Camera to the Computer:

Double-click the "No name" removable drive on the Desktop to view and navigate through the folders and files on the Camera.

You can see several folders, you may either navigate through each folder to locate the folder that contains the pictures or double click the "DCIM" folder to view all the images.
Next, copy all the desired images then paste them on the Hard Drive of the Computer.
