Same problem: LA40R71B

We have the same problem with our 14 month old 42" Samsung LCD.

Problem is that TV switched off by itself, then red standby light flashes and tv makes clicking noise. Unplugging / replugging after an our makes no difference.

Dissapointed!

Does it make the the samsung jingle when it trys to turn on? if it does you need a power supply if not then most likely it is the main board. I would contact you r local service center for help and if the standby lights in the front blink in a certain pattern write that down it is a error code that the technicain can use to solve the problem.

I have a Sharp LC-32D44E LCD TV. Purchased Oct 08. In July 09 when switched on, the power light showed green for about 20 seconds and then went into standby mode. Fault fixed by Sharp, and engineer stated...

The problem may be in any three things. No 1: Internal power supply. No 2: The video section. No 3: IFT (Intermediate Frequency Transformer).
Solve:Check all the section one by one and find out where the fault lies. Then repaier the faulty components.

I have a 46 lcd samsung tv that has no power we changed the capatiors still no power any ideas 14 month old.

You need to check for standby 5vdc, it should be there the minute you plug the TV into the outlet. This a must have voltage. Replacement power supply is only $53 here: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Samsung+LN32A330+
Please post back what kind of voltage reading you are getting at the DC output connectors.

The TV turns itself off after 14 minutes

Sounds like maybe you have a sleep timer activated?  There should be an option to reset the tv back to factory reset, this might help you.

Vertical line on LCD TV Panel

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

Samsung HPS 5073

Unplug TV, take off the back. One each board there will be capacitors. the tops are flat unless one has blown then it is bubbled up. If you find one that is bad, copy the number and search the internet for a replacement. Unsolder and remove the old one ( there is a line drawn on the negative leg, mark the neg side on the motherboard so you can replace the new one the same way). Now solder the new one back onto the board. This worked for my TV, hope it helps

LCD TV SCREEN PROBLEM RED HORIZONTAL LINES OF DOTS ALL OVER SCREEN PLEASE HELP

This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.

Sony blinking standby light

This is Sony's way of telling you that there is a short in you set.Probably the horizontal deflection circuit.(Horizontal output transistor shorted??). Also any other short. You need to take it to a techincian and have it checked out. It would be wise to get an estimate! Stargazer
