On My Repair Manual It Says , Spark Plug Rv-15yc (champion) Spark Plug Gap For Magnum ** Vertical** Twins Mv18 Kohler Gap To 0.025 , For **horizontal** Magnum Twins Gap 0.0035

On typical gasoline lawnmower engines, the gap can be anywhere between .020" and .035"

.30 is the standard for most lawn mower engines...you might check the "engine specifications" in your owner's manual to be sure.

Set plug gap at 0.030 inches -- standard recommendation is to change plug every year. Few do that -- cleaning and re-gapping is what most do. Platinum plugs last longer...

Test for spark by placing a screwdriver into the spark plug wire and holding it close to a bolt on the engine. should see a spark (blue). If not, problem is likely the armature (coil). The coil is located under the engine shroud and held in place by two bolts. If you replace this part, (normally $30 to $40) you must ensure a proper air gap. Auto parts stores have inexpensive repair manuals to help.
