This sound like the main control board has blown and this is due to the motor shorting out, if you isolate the power supply and remove the control panel you will be able to remove the pcb/module and inspect it for signs of burning or split tracks if you find this is the case usually it is cheaper to replace the machine than purchase a pcb and motor.

That sounds like you are on Pause or Delayed Start. Try Pressing and holding the button. You can also try disconnecting from the mains for 5 minutes.
When in doubt, read the manual :>D
START/PAUSE button with indicator light: starts or temporarily interrupts the wash cycles. N.B. To pause the wash cycle in progress, press this button; the corresponding indicator light will flash orange, while the indicator light for the current wash cycle phase will remain lit in a fixed manner. If the DOOR LOCKED indicator light is switched off, the door may be opened. To start the wash cycle from the point at which it was interrupted, press this button again.
and also
! If the START/PAUSE indicator light (orange) flashes rapidly at the same time as the function indicator light, this indicates a problem has occurred (see "Troubleshooting").

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
If the key light is not flashing it sounds like there is likely to be a problem with either the door solenoid/lock or the 'door closed' sensor. Both require a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(
If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

First try unplugging the washer machine for about fifteen minutes or so. Then plug it back in. If the problem still there, then it is the board. It can be fix.
I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WML540 washing machine and after the wash and the rinses, all the lights start flashing and the programme will not go any further. I would like to know what is causing this and how to solve it.
I've got a BWM129 which is causing me problems too (the washing is smelly at th eend of the cycle!) - How did you get the filter unit out of its housing, I turns around but doesn't seem to want to come out!
