First 30 pages of a print run after 24hrs idle are blank

DC12 with a XP12 V2 fiery sometimes it loses its EFI card settings somehow -
the way around it is to go to the fiery and open and reset all the paramters on the firey EFI card then reboot both printer and fiery and it wil lthen print a few blank pages and after 10 mins delay with no print it will go for the next few days.
I als ocannot seem ot get the XP embedded system to accept Microsoft updated - even though I have done the updater patch - it now comes up with system failed to read preferences? and if look closely it is error code 0x8024D00C

Don't upgrade the xp, it runs a limited version to ensure that the command workstation works ok. A reload is probably in order to start again. Any updates can generally be found on the xerox website, and installed via command workstation

I suggest you get used to it or upgrade to a newer machine. I have 2 doc 12 and files that took 45 minutes to rip with the XP12 fiery and 20 minutes with the XP12e fiery or about 2 minutes my new equipment

at the end of setting up network settings it should ask if you want to save settings, click yes then its enabled. i have never had a fiery that doesnt hold its settings so its probably something you arent pressing.
there is an issue with one of the mac OS's that it just doesnt like the old fiery rips and you will never be able to print, but i'm not that clued up on the mac side and cant remember, sorry.
from your add printer section it should automatically see the x12 and give you the options of a hold,print and direct queue. I f you havent got a pc then the only queues that is useful to you is direct. Print holds the job on the hard drive and will eventually fill the server

Pages started printing solid black

The problem is because it has a bad or missing conection with the fiery. Try to reconect the cable from the printer to the fiery. if not change the cable because is brocken

I just purchased a docucolor 12 from ebay without a fiery controller. I observed it has a parallel lpr port can I use a standard connection from my pc to run this printer

Nop, you need a Fiery X12, xp12 or Ex12 or splash system in order to print

Fiery xp12 is loading without end

Have you checked the paper trays are filled and ready? Also unplug for a couple of min's and see if that clears the memory as it may be trying to forfill a print request the never compleated.... Had this happen a few times....
