Electric Earthwise Corded Lawn Mower 20in. Deck Logo
Posted on Apr 20, 2011

My son removed the batteries from our Earthwise 24 volt mower. We got replacement batteries and need to put them in but need a wiring diagram or instructions to put the wires back in the correct terminals.

The red and blue posts are jumpered on the right side if you are looking from the front. (There is just a wire connecting these two terminals)

The other red post has red and turquoise wires. The other blue post has white, blue and black wires going to it.
Sometimes easier to find solutions under Homelite brand. Exact same mower.

SOURCE: Mower started smoking, then stopped working.

Try to see if there is any oil in it. Or maybe your belt is clogged. A good cleaning and maybe a change of plug may help.

Batteries shows fully charged. 24 volt shows 27 volts fully charged but shows RED light when install in mower.

it's never the motor, it's always the batteries.
you are most likely testing the batteries with just a meter and not under load
you will need a tool to put the battery under a load, it will end up costing more than two new batteries.
just replace the pair and you will be fine, i have done enough of these over the last few years.
good luck and you will have no problems with the new batteries.

Task force lawn mower 24 volt battery

Battery Source - if it's made they can get it but usually they use 2 - 12V batteries and wire them in series to get 24V

Wiring diagram for a reset button on a razor e-100 scooter

Could be the battery.
Put the Scooter on a block so the rear tire is raised. Remove the standing plate to reveal the battery compartment.
Charge the Unit completely

1. Using a multimeter measure the voltage across the batteries. If the voltage is below 20 volts batteries are dead - Replace batteries.
2. Now for a running test. Turn the throttle and spin the rear tire to preform a kick start. Still measuring the voltage. If the voltage is Below 20 volts or if the voltage drops quickly batteries are dead - Replace batteries.
3. If the voltage is remaining around 24 volts for a long period - then you could have connector problems, clean and tighten all connectors.
I use a fiberglass electronic cleaning brush, as contact cleaners leave residue that interfere with electrical connections.

The control module is simple and can be replaced with only a 24 volt relay without the kick start feature or Brake. If you want the brake then you can use two 24 volt relays still no Kick Start.

For those of you who know electrical, below is circuits I developed to replace the controller. This diagram will also give you a better understanding on the Razor circuit.

NOTE : This is not a schematic diagram of the Razor E100 Control Module. I designed this circuit. for my Great Nephew's Scooter.

1. The Brake is a normally closed switch that opens when you squeeze the Brake handle.
2. The throttle is two normally open switches that close when you turn the throttle.
3. The Kick Start circuit is described in the Diagram below.
4. The resistors values may need to be tweaked for best performance.

The charger that comes with Homelite 24v mower is crappy. I've gone thru 3 of them. What's a better alternative?

I have used a DieHard portable battery charger (model 200.71222) for several years to recharge my 24-volt, 18-year old Craftsman mulcher, model 315.370270. This is after the on-board charger died. I just disconnect the link between the two 12-volt batteries and remove all other battery connections. Then connect the charger leads to the positive and negative terminals on one of the batteries before plugging in the charger. I put the settings on the charger at conventional low maintenance and 2 amps. Charge one battery and then the other (assuming you have two 12-volt sealed lead acid batteries like my mower). I use binder clips 530-t.jpgfrom an office supply store to hold the battery wires on the terminals when I'm mowing...makes it simpler to remove and reattach for charging instead of the nut-and-bolt connectors that came with the mower.

My charger is not putting out dc voltage, but is putting out ac voltage. for example, if i select 24 volts it will put out 24 volts ac, not dc. what failed to cause this problem? I am getting no amps on...

Hi, you're Rectofier has failed if you have A/C voltage and no D/C voltage. This is what converts A/C volts to D/C volts. If you have a diagram or any parts manual, you can locate this part and replace it. You will need to go to a place that repairs these chargers, or where you bought it to order or but a new one.

What does the red blinking light on battery meant ? It is on The Electric Earthwise Lawnmower.

Red blinking light according to test at Batteries Plus means that the charger is kaput.
