You can also configure it with below method.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. Then click on WAN settings set it as your internet service provider settings enable DHCP Then click on wireless and enable it. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I got a NETGEAR router and I have been trying to get my Motorola SURFboard to recognize it. I had the USB connection installed and the NETGEAR uses ethernet, so I tried to install the ethernet but my...

The Cable modem must be disconnected from the computer. You cannot use USB and Ethernet at the same time.

1. Turn off power to the Cable Modem and the Netgear Router. Do the same with the computer.
2. Connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the router's WAN (Internet) port.
3. Connect another ethernet cable from one of the remaining 4 LAN ports on the router to the computer's ethernet port.

4. Now power on the Cable Modem ONLY. Wait for the modem to sync up with your service provider
5. After about 2-5 minutes power up the router and wait about 1-2 minutes.
6. Now power on your PC.

Check and see if you have internet access. If not you may have to uninstall any cable modem software related to USB connection. if this is the case, then you may have to repeat steps 4-6.

Since most cable internet providers do not use proprietary connection settings, your internet connection should be up and running without changing any settings in the router or modem.

If this does not resolve your issues, we can continue to work with you.

Hi I am using reliance broadband. They have

Easy, if your modem is connected to your computer right now and internet is working all you need to do is connect your LAN line to your belkin router. the connection should say input, or Internet. after that you will need another LAN wire (These look like telephone cables but the jack plug is larger and will only fit a lan connection on your router or computer) Connect the second wire to the line 1 or outout 1 from your router, to your pc in the slot where the other cable was connected. your internet signal should work.... on your mobil find any available network and log in to your belkin router.

that should do it.... if you haven't set up your internet connection, do that first by installing the drivers for the modem provided by your provider and then complete the process above.

Wireless Router showing as connected, but cannot access Internet.

You have _THREE_ separate network connections to check:

1. your router, through your ADSL modem, to your ISP;

2. your computer, through an Ethernet cable, to your router;

3. your computer, through its wireless adapter, to the wireless adapter in your router.

So:

1. Connect the Ethernet cable from your laptop directly to your ADSL modem, bypassing the router.
Turn the router off.
Restart the modem.
Restart the computer.
Click Start
Click Run
Enter CMD and press ENTER
Enter IPCONFIG and press ENTER
You should get output like:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
* IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 123.456.789.249
* Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 123.456.789.1
* Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Enter PING 123.456.789.1 and press ENTER
If PING does not respond, then telephone your ISP, and get them to trouble-shoot your connection.

2. Turn off the ADSL modem.
Connect the Ethernet cable from your laptop to one of the LAN ports on the router.
Turn the router on.
Restart your computer.
Click Start
Click Run
Enter CMD and press ENTER
Enter IPCONFIG and press ENTER
You should get output like:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
* IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.100
* Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
* Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Enter PING 192.168.0.1 and press ENTER
If PING does not respond, then your router is not working.
If PING does respond, connect another Ethernet cable from the WAN port on the router to the ADSL modem.
Turn the modem on, and wait until the flashing-lights on the modem, and on the router, settle-down to a steady pattern.
Type PING WWW.GOOGLE.COM and press ENTER.
If PING responds, then everything is fine.

3. If you fix #1 and #2, above, then your wireless adapter should work.

How do i connect my router to my telephone line

The telephone line doesn't connect to the router. The telephone line goes to the modem which is provided to you by your internet provider. Then an ethernet cable is connected from the modem to the router.

The modem allows the internet connection to be active, The router is used to distribute the Internet to create a network.

Ic help

Scenario 2 to 4: Scenario 2) The modem does not have an Ethernet port. The modem is a dial-up modem for traditional dial-up service. To use the Router, you need a cable/DSL modem and high-speed Internet connection.

Scenario 3) You cannot use the DSL service to connect manually to the Internet.
After you have installed the Router, it will automatically connect to your Internet Service Provider (ISP), so you no longer need to connect manually.

Scenario 4) The DSL telephone line does not fit into the Router’s Internet port.
The Router does not replace your modem. You still need your DSL modem in order to use the Router. Connect the telephone line to the DSL modem, insert the setup CD into your computer, and then follow the on-screen instructions
