Have you looked at the manual? There is no internal source that would produce 7.1 audio other than the test tones. Attach a multichannel source according to ITS manual.

Hi guys. Having a problem with my NAD T163 Surround Sound Decoder. Popping in front left and right speakers when changing audio selection. Works well other than that. Please give me some suggestions w

Could be DC voltage on the speaker output line, but this will generally keep your receiver audio output turned off completely. Could be a bad muting transistor or microprocessor IC(computer within your NAD). If you are interested in having your NAD repaired, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com.You may contact me there. Thank you..

NAD 7140 input selector does not work

The selector chip is not working, either there is no B+ to the ic or the chip has malfunctioned or one of the surrounding components dead, for this type of problem a schematic will be needed to track the problem. try www.nad.com contact customer support and the technical department for additional help.

Hi, nad going but no sound from speakers. can get FM but only up towards full volume.

Checker speaker wiring on back for shorts, if okay! the audio drivers and outputs are highly suspect, at this point I suggest a serviceman because of the complexity of the surround sound system.

I am trying to hook up my home theater system

marvidson,
With the NAD model that you have and its lack of component or HMDI switching, the only way is to connect your system, sort of, backwards.

The only way to do it is to connect your digital cable box and blueray player directly to the tv, then the audio output from the tv to one of the video inputs on the NAD. The NAD has digital coaxial and toslink inputs so if your tv has one of them as an output, that would give you the best sound to the NAD. If your tv does not have either of those outputs, then you will be limited to the composite outputs (red and white) but that will still give you good sound.

Also, depending on the digital output to input configuration, you could possible find a converter online.
