I got this Sony Trinitron from a a restuarant that is being restocked with plasma TVs.Its a KV 32S42 model.I get sounds from it but I get no pictures.Another guy who got one said that he used the remote with his and it worked fine.The remotes were finished when I got there.Is there a reset button?

from description you are on the right track--screen con inside will either be on the crt circuit board or on the high voltage transformer, on or the other--lots of the older Sony sets when the picture tube gets weaker need this done.
This can be a symptom of the picture tube starting to fail or a power supply problem. Can you please verify the model number and I'll then be able to give you a few options.
Your TV's tuner is the problem. 1st thing to try is just to
sesolder its connections to the main circuit board. If that
doesn't work replace the tuner. Also could put a meter on the
power coming into the tuner and see if it is drooping in sync with your
picture. Tuners are not that expensive to replace.
turn up your master screen control on flyback transformer.
if when sceen gos black ,the timer light will be blinking.
this means your picture tube is week.
by turning up the screen control you may give it more time.
