See page 6 (this is a display & basic explanation of your transmitter) of the owners manual http://mitsubishi-tv.com/asset/file/basic_owners_guide/738-838_BIB_v3.pdf
there is a format button on you remote transmitter. If you have other format issues it is probably your source & not the TV. You may have to change the source format in which case you will need that mfr. operating manual.
A 7701P is a remote transmitter. It is not an alarm. You must know the alarm's model because different models have various ways of programming transmitters. In other words, you do not program the 7701P. The frequency is already fixed. You must program your security system to teach it that transmitter's code. Look up the manual for your security system. Instructions will be there. This typically involves turning the ignition on/off a specific number of times and pressing a valet/programming button (or switch) a certain number of times and then pressing a button on the transmitter.
If you look on the back of the motor head, where the terminal strip is
located, you will either find a set of numbered switches (1 through 9)
with +, 0, - settings, or a colored square button. If you have the
numbered switches, you want the 61LM model transmitter. If, instead, you
have a colored, square button, check to see what color the indicator
light, adjacent to this button, emits when it is pressed. If the
indicator light is the color green, you want the model 81LM remote
transmitter, if the indicator light is an amber color, you want the
model 971LM transmitter.
If the picture looks like a 3D then you have a convergence failure.
I would suggest to visuallyinspect the STKIcs for dry or crystallized solder joints.
