I have a Panasonic cordless, multi handset phone. The model number is KX-TG4391AL. When somebody rings us, everynow and then they receive a fax tone instead of hearing our voice. We cannot hear the caller either. This only happens intermittently. Any clues on what the problem might be. Thanks vivek

SOURCE: Panasonic KX-TG2740 Cordless Phone - Can I reset handset registration

press function button on handset, scroll to initial setting, select by pressing right arrow, scroll to registration, select, select hs registration, follow directions on handset display, pressing mute on "new" base station, and ok on handset(plugged in). If you like, you can unregister with the "old" base unit first.

SOURCE: KX-TG6071M 5.8 GHz talking caller id not working

Hi trinigirl, You should not have to do anything to make the caller id information come through. There is no programming to perform for the regular caller id identification on your display after the second ring (it takes at least one ring cycle for the digital information to pass through). Your model also has the talking caller id function, which will announce in English the callers name or a custom name you can prepare in the phone book of handset number 1. With all that said, you are not getting caller id showing after the second ring, then your phone is bad (which is pretty rare for this symptom), or your phone line still does not have caller id activated. To troubleshoot your problem you need another phone line with working caller id and/or a different phone that is known good to pass caller id. That way you can interchange the phones/lines to see if it is your line or your phone. My guess it is your line somehow, though I have fixed phones that won't pass caller id, but rarely. If it is your phone, try rebooting it, thats about all you can do short of sending it in for repair. Let me know how it goes. CG

SOURCE: This is really silly, but

HOLD DOWN the "M" key which is the "*" key in the bottom left for 3 seconds until you hear a beep.  Repeat if you want mute again.

How do i increase no of rings before answer machine kicks in Kxtgea20

The KX-TGEA20 is the handset for one of several Panasonic cordless phone models, including the KX-TGE232. To change the number of rings before the answering system picks up, make sure that all of the handsets are in standby mode. Press Menu # 2 1 1 on a handset. Use the Up/Down arrows to select the desired number of rings (between 2 and 7 or toll saver). Then press the soft key for Save followed by pressing Off on the handset.

The manual for the KX-TGE232 is available on the product page: https://shop.panasonic.com/cordless-corded-telephones/cordless-telephones/KX-TGE232B.html . The current link to the manual is ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tge210_mul_om.pdf . See page 44 for these directions.

I hope this helps. These steps will not help if you have voice mail service from your telephone company.

How do I install my Panasonic KXTGA401 phone?

The KX-TGA401 is a handset for specific Panasonic cordless telephone systems. Connecting the handset requires registering (pairing) it with the base and if the base can support another handset. First make sure that the base is plugged into an active phone line (land line) and that the power adapter is plugged in and working properly. Charge the handset before attempting the registration process.

Then make sure that the phone system is in standby (no calls). Press and hold the Locator button on the base for about 5 seconds (wait until the tone sounds). If all of the handsets that are already registered ring, press and release the Locator button and then press and hold it again. Once you hear the registration tone (some models), place the new handset in the charger on the base. Wait for the long beep and the registered symbol to appear.

If the not registered symbol appears, try registering by using the handset menu. Press Menu # 1 3 0 (the key below 9 and individual number keys) on the handset. Press and hold the locator button until you hear the registration tone as above. Then press Select and Save on the handset within 90 seconds of hearing the registration tone. Wait for the handset and base to complete the registration process. You'll hear a long beep.

The first registration method is given in the manual for the handset, http://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TGA401/OI/TGA401_PNQX2390ZA/TGA401_PNQX2390ZA.pdf. The second is from the page 31 of the manual for the KX-TG653x (KX-TG6531 base) system, ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg6511_mul_om.pdf . The KX-TGA401 handset works with other bases as well. You may want to check the manual for your phone system in case there are differences. Other compatible phone systems are the KX-TG401x, KX-TG403x, and KX-TG651x.

I hope this helps.

Panasonic kx-tga101s -- problem regarding making conference call - this is very much helpfull. But i have weird problem, i did call 1 person, and then i asked the person to hold and i made the other call....

Some Panasonic cordless phones come with up to five handsets each will need to be properly adjusted. You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with panasonic phones.

Hi There.. Lost instructions..wanted to know how to change the handset setting/line settings.. want to change handset to different base ?? Hopefully you can assist? Thanks

First, you need to de-register the handset from the current base. Then register it to the new base. On the handset, press Menu then navigate (up/down arrows) to Handset Settings and press OK. Next navigate to Registration and press OK.

For deregistration: navigate to Deregister then press 3 3 5 . Then select which handset to deregister (1-6) (the handset number will flash when it is selected) and press OK. Select Yes and then OK. When the deregistration is complete, press OFF.

For registrations, navigate to HS Registration then press OK. Then move to the base and press and hold the Locator button until the registration tone starts. If all the handset ring, press the locator button to stop the response and start over. Within a minute and a half of the registration tone starting, press OK on the handset and wait until a beep sounds and the symbol on the screen stops flashing.

The user's manual is available here: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Phones-Fax/Telephones/Expandable-Systems/Operating-Instructions/model.KX-TG1033S.O#ts . It's in the tab marked Operating Instructions. This will provide additional setting information.

I hope this helps.

Semi Dead Panasonic KX-TGA100N with ''C533'' displayed.

Panasonic KX-TG1050N Cordless Phone. Base handset (No. 1, KX-TGA100N) does not work, no keypad response or dial tone. Green indicator message light ON (should only work with the TG1000N base unit) all the time till battery runs down. Display shows message ?C533?. Can still send and receive calls on extension phones 2 and 3.
