Almost new..three recharges...was working fine, now light on charger says green, but when turned on, scooter light flickers for several seconds before turning red, but no go ...no hum, either

  • dogzpad Apr 19, 2011

Expert probably right, but I hope not. So new, no abuse, worked fine one night, plugged in to recharge, then next day, no go...only the flickering light on scooter which, after half a min. Goes red, but no go. Do I need a priest?

  • dogzpad Apr 21, 2011

Sounds right...I'll check it and well know

After charging use a voltage tester to measure the voltage from the battery the reading must be equal to what is the voltage output of the battery 12v or 24 volts if you can measure the correct out put voltage then the battery is full charge the scooter should work well.
If you measure a low voltage means you need to full charge first the battery before operating.
to measure the battery voltage put your red test prove to the positive terminal of the battery (red)and black test prove to the black terminal of the battery....If the battery is full charge and the scooter wont run there is a problem on the motor cleaning the carbon brush of the motor will solve the problem... good luck!if you need further assistance just post back!

Hi dogzpad,

Although your Razor E100 Electric Scooter is almost new seems like the battery is dead based on the information. The charger is working properly but battery needs to be replaced. f the machine is still under warranty you may contact Razor and have them do the necessary.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

On my charger both, lights flash green as i try to recharge, but it only recharges a little.

1. Check the voltage can be seen at the charger socket, (mulitmeter required here volt DC setting looking at the two outside holes)

2. Is it not possible to try another charger ? as long as it the same fitting ...

3. Is there a fuse for the charging line?.

Invacare m51 scooter. I just replaced the batteries in my dads chair. We charged it all night the first night and it ran great the next day. recharged it for several days after using it and now the battery...

Sweet you do not need to leave the charger plugged in for several days. Sounds like there is a charger problem When you first plug the charger in with batteries depleted you should be getting a red and yellow light with the yellow turning green when fully charged. now the charger (built in) could have become unplugged from the power module located in the rear of the chair behind the black cover. To get to it you have to remove the seat, shroud and batteries then using a phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench remove the black cover. The charger cord will be the last one on the left with a small 4 pin white plastic plug make sure it is well seated in the power module. If it isn't loose then you have a problem with the charger or the circuit. Now if you know of a friend that has an off board charger for a chair or scooter that you can borrow you can charge the batteries using the charger port located under the front of the joystick Plug the charger into the port then into the wall socket and let er rip Charge until the light turns green overnite is a good habit to get into If the onboard charger is bad I would suggest you by an offboard charger (cheaper) Now if Medicare paid for your Dads Chair then they will pay for any repairs even batteries and you can contact the provider that your dad got the chair from to see if they will repair it Hope this helps

Suspect the charger is shot on a seldom used like new Companion II. The batteries are at 3 volts but the charger red light wont illuminate when plugged in. Green light comes on, but not the red. I did see...

MStrong The charger will not charge batteries that are reading that low Replace the batteries and try the charger again. Remember to always charge before use and never charge longer than 12-16 hours. Get into the habit of charging overnite on scooters used everyday and once a week on seldomly used scooters always sore the scooter fully charged and if storing for a longer time remove the batteries and store fully charged. ope this helps you

Schwinn S1000 illuminates both green & red light, but no power

I am having the same problem. By all indications it looks like the motor controller is the problem. Everything else works OK. I am pulling the controller tomorrow and replacing. If that doesn't work I am junking it.
