Okidata - label printing alignment

I am trying to print single column continuos form lables (Avery 4013) using MS Word label printing option on the 320 turbo and the printer head will only start printing toward the center of the platen. This would be a simple fix by alligning the labels in the center of the platen but the Okidata printer will not allow you to do this is wants the labels alligned left. I can't get MS Word to print the labels in this alignment using the Avery template for 4013

The labels start printing a little to the right of the center of the label. I have tried several label options including creating a custom label. I have tried to move the labels to the right, Okidata printer blocks that. I tried centering data on the label in the Word options, just to see if that made any difference, and no difference. The printer completely ignores the commands from the document. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the print drivers. Anyone else...

I have the same problem, but I'm using the Compudata 110250 labels for the OKI MICROLINE 320 Turbo matrix Printer.

I think I will just make a customized template. :)

You might try setting up Word for a 'custom' label since it offers that option.
I've done some strange labels by directing Word via that feature.

Printing avery labels on epson workforce 630

My Epson XP-7100 would not print Avery labels no matter what settings I used for the paper, weight, format in the printer properties. So I used the PRINT function in Word and did "Microsoft Print to PDF". Then I used the resulting pdf and printed it onto the label sheet in my Epson XP-7100. Worked great.

Does seem that if Epson printers can't print using the label file in Word, that at least Epson would put a work-around solution on their website. I had to figure this one out on my own. Although it is easy and relatively quick to do, I took a lot of time to come up with a way to print my Avery labels. Epson, get on the ball!

How do I get my hp deskjet 6940 to print labels. I'm trying to print Avery 5498 labels

You will have to use software to make the labels...like Microsoft Office Word, Open office Writer, or Microsoft Works. In MS Office Word (2003) go to tools->letters and mailings -> envelope and lables. Create the label you need.

If you use open office, go to File->New->Labels and create the label you need.

After which, you put the paper in the printer and print them out. May want to check out the size so you make sure it prints correctly.

-best of luck

When trying to print Avery Labels L7160 the top few labels print within each label 'frame' BUT towards the end of the page the labels are printed further up and therefore are out of the label 'frames' ALSO...

For Word 2007/Word 2010
1- Click on the Office button
2- Select Print then Print again.
3- In the Zoom section make sure 'Scale to paper size' is set to 'A4'
4- Click on the Properties button.
5- Click on the Paper / Quality tab, then click on Advanced.
6- In the Paper/ Output section it has Paper size. To the right you have a drop down menu . Make sure A4 is selected and not letter, then click on OK.

3- There may also be other options in your printing preferences such as 'Print Area', 'Scale to Fit Page Size' or 'Page Margins. These will all need to be set correctly for your design to print 100% e.g. Print Area set to Maximum, Scale to fit Page Size disabled and Page Margins set to Minimized.

Some printers ( for example Epson printers ) have a 'Reduce /Enlarge' facility that defaults to 94% or 97% (instead of 100%). To set this to 100% click the 'Layout' tab and in the 'Reduce/Enlarge' section select 'Custom' you should then be able to change the scaling to 100%.

Printing labels on bizhub C450

Hi nwillett,
Yes and no, sorry if that doesn't make much sense.
For years Minolta recommended Avery labels, but these days they recomment labels manufactured by Howard Smith Papers, their website is http://www.hspg.com/
The thing with labels is always to use the one your copier service company suggests. Otherwise they'll invalidate you contract and you'll be liable for callouts and repairs caused by using Avery labels.
However, Avery labels are good and I have experienced very few problems with them I pressume you using the lables in the correct orientation and also using the manual bypass to feed them.

Printing on templates

This is normally set through the page margins within the software you are using not the actual printer settings. MS Word has templates for various Avery labels, but I've found after loading the template you have to fine tune the margins for your printer. Use plain paper to print test pages and hold them over your card stock to check alignment.

Hi,
open the related word document.
select 1 line above the Text in question, press enter twice.
That way, the text will drop by 2 lines.
try a test page on this, alternatively try using a different label layout, until you get the desired result.
Other than the AveryL7160.
