Dell inspiron 560 won't recognize network adapter

Try reinstalling the NIC driver. If its separate network card, connected in PCI adapter, try to remove and plug it back in to see if its found after.

If these actions do not help, maybe NIC was damager with the power outage, it can happen.

Step 3: With your computer running, a bubble message will appear stating that this device was not installed successfully. Left click on the message.
But if the message no longer appears, skip to Device Manager Installation.
Step 4: On driver installation failure, you can change the setting to use Windows Update by clicking Change setting...
Step 5: Chose to allow Windows to update your driver when it is not found on you computer.
Step 6: Once the driver installs successfully, close the window.

Step 7: Click/Right Click on the Network Icon located on the system tray to View the Available Wireless Networks. Find your personal Network and double click to connect. It should request for a wireless key, which by now should have been set up.

My presario SR2170NX Cannot pickup Skype . The computer says my pcmci won't start I have a desk computer

Can you get an internet connection ??
you will have to open up your network connections to check the state of your internet connection
click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ? you will need to update or install the driver or it could be fire walled

Make sure your isp provider is allowed in your fire wall settings
your network adapter might not work, and you do not have network connectivity or any related network functionality.

Device Manager may list your network adapter as not working and as not having a driver installed.

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down network adapters + expand Ethernet driver if you see a yellow ? ! question or exclamation mark or red x means you need to install/update driver right click to install driver

the driver could be on the motherboard disk or the one supplied by your ISP internet service supplier or you might need to download it

My friend has an acer an she is trying to put the network adapter that were originaly on the computer becaus her boyfriend deleted it

Hi,
If I am understanding you. Then all that was done. Was to remove the drivers for them. So they won't show up. However they will appear with exclamation point in device manager.
(start/run/devmgmt.msc) then we just need to reinstall the drivers. to help you identify the needed driver check here http://support.acer.com/us/en/default.aspx. they can be stored on a flash drive and select update driver and point to the flash drive for the needed files.

hope this helps

The network adapters dont even show up in the device manager, where can i download the drivers?

  1. If the network adapter isn't showing up in the Device Manager, even as an Unknown Device, then the Network adapter may be faulty.
  2. Try removing the Network adapter, restart the computer, then shut down the computer after the restart.
  3. Now reinstall the adapter with the computer off.
  4. Once the Network card is reinstalled, turn the computer on. Check the Device Manager for your Network Adapter.
  5. The computer should detect the card and ask you for drivers. If it doesn't, that means it either automatically found the drivers and installed them, or your network adapter has died.

Have netcore310g adapter got cd. computer crashed had to reload everything now my wire won,t work, IT LOOKS LIKE DRIVERS WON,T LOAD -HELP. TRIED TO LOAD MANUALLY NO LUCK PLEASE ADVISE WHAT TO DO TRYING...

Hello,
You will want to check in your device manager to see if the network card is not being recognized and you will be able to update the driver there.

For windows XP, rght click on my computer, select properties and then select "ahrdware" and device manager.

For windows VIsta and 7, go to your control panel and open Device manager there.

Once open, you should see a network adapter with a yellow question mark or yellow exclamation mark beside it.
In either case, make sure the driver disk is in your disk drive, right click on the network adapter and select "update driver"; then just select the "recommended" options and follow through.

If this still doesn't work, try uninstalling the device from the device manager and then install the drivers using the disk.

Thanks,

Pat

Hi. i have an ibm t40 running wit winxp sp2. i can't connect to internet with my ethernet card. i have an error that shows "intel pro 100 network connection" is either damaged or absent. But i know that it...

It's possible you have a damaged network adapter. Depending on if it's built in or an add on will determine how to proceed.

If it's an add on take it out of the computer and remove all the software and drivers. Go to Device manager and make sure it's out of there too. Now reinstall the software and drivers then reinstall the network adapter.

If your adapter is built in you need to start by disabling the adapter on the mother board. This is done in the BIOS/CMOS setup. Enter your BIOS setup as your computer is booting up, if your unfamiliar with this be very careful changing the wrong setting can have dire consequences. After disabling the adapter follow the previous instructions for removing and reinstalling the software and drivers. After this is done reactivate your network adapter, your computer should reconize and reinstall the adapter.

This should have you up and running unless the adapter is damaged.
