Hello & Welcome to FixYa

This is a common issue with Whirlpool Duet however, your whirlpool duet needs a reset to resolve the control lock problem. Press and hold the END OF CYCLE/CYCLE SIGNAL button for 15 seconds to reset the control. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Does anyone have any idea when a Whirlpool Duet GEW9200LW1 Dryer was made? Trying to get an idea on a used one that I'm looking to purchase.

The model number tells only the year that model is introduced but the serial number tells the year and the week of production.

Replace heating element for Duet Dryer GEW9200LW1

First disconnect the power to the dryer by unplugging it from the wall. Then remove the 3 screws on the lower panel of the dryer. This should expose the heating element in a metal housing on the right side of the dryer. Disconnect the 2 wires going to the heating element and slide it out of the housing. The heating element part number is 3387747.

Model GEW9200LW1 "Control Locked" light is on and dryer won't start. How do I unlock the control?

Controls locked

I'm not familiar with the specifics of this machine, but the bezel and Console Electronics (the subassembly clipped to the bezel that holds the circuit boards and buttons) on our Whirlpool GEW9200LW1 is a poor fit, and pressure on the bezel itself can activate the End of Cycle button, and subsequently lock the controls.
