you have lost the convergence IC`s in your set, this really isn`t a diy repair unless you are very proficient in un-soldering and re-soldering components, once replaced there will be an alignment procedure as well that will require the service manual also, if you have more questions feel free to ask away, video-tek
Hi yes i had the same problem and its basically because the tv needs a software upgrade. I contacted argos and they sent an engineer to sort it and he plugged something into the back of the tv to upgrade it. all in all it took 5 mins to do and not had a problem since.

You may have a bad comb filter or one of the CRT's (picture tubes)(cathod ray tube), are going bad. Call an Authorized Service Center and have them come to your home and give you a written estimate b4 repair. Cost AVG $550.00, if CRT is bad go shopping.

most tv shop's will replace convergence ic's,which your tv needs.Thepart number is stk392-180 very common You need 2 plus poss resistors,3 bucks apiece
