SOURCE: Setup can not find any hard disk while installing win 2003

During setup you must specify any raid drivers that are required. Have the raid controller driver on floppy and insert when prompted.

SOURCE: hard drive not detected

you will need to download the RAID drivers from the Dell website
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R74082&SystemID=PWE_PNT_P3C_2450&os=WNT5&osl=en&deviceid=1374&devlib=0&typecnt=5&vercnt=7&formatcnt=2&fileid=126163 and load them onto a floppy drive.

Then when installing the server press F6 to install other drivers this will load the PEC drivers and W2k3 will then see your drives

Do not try to load the drivers from a USB as W2k3 is "preset" to only accept drivers from a floppy drive unlike WIndows server 2008

Hope this helps

It depends on what type of drive you are using. Plus, you may have to specify the array controller drivers if your are using the SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) drives.

I just got a new PowerEdge T300 server with an embedded SATA Controller. I am attempting to install Windows 2003 on the server, but am getting a blue screen with an error IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL...

The server should have came with an OpenManage CD.
You boot to the CD and it walks you through setting up arrays and installing the OS.
If you don't have the CD you can download it.
Go to support.dell.com Drivers and Downloads and enter your server's Service Tag.

This stop code, "0x0000000A irql_not_less_or_equal" normally refers to a driver problem. So this is one of the few times where the files that the BSOD lists actually is important. Next I would try to boot the computer into safemode and reinstall/drivers related to that file to see if this make a difference.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Poweredge 1800 server

Hey,

I looked over the spesifications for the poweredge 1800 servers, go ahead, it will work perfectly but there is one problem in the windows XP setup, you will need to insert / load SCSI or SATA drivers for the hard drive With a floppy disk, or if you don't have a floppy drive your going to need to create a custom windows xp setup cd and add the drivers into it so it can start the SCSI or SATA hard drive and finish the install. without the drivers it might not find the hard drive.

Aside from that I don't see any other problems. You should be able to get the drivers, and everything ese from dell site
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/

Actually I looked over the dell downloads, I see only windows 2000 on the list with windows server 2003, and 2008 and linux distributions.

This could be a 2nd problem, drivers might not be avaialble, or work with xp, but we might be able to get it to work.

So two problems, SCSI or SATA drivers in windows xp / windows 2000 setup

2nd problem is in windows xp drivers, you could try windows 2003's drivers and 2000's and see if they work, if not, then we would have to look for drivers ourselfs from the internet.

So xp might cause headache but we might get it working, windows 2000 seems to be supported perfectly.

Let me know how the project goes
Thanks,
Ekse
