Check ur y sustain board

Id start by replacing the tcon board, its the small board generally at the top of the set. sometimes under a metal cover

The fault is with its T'Con board.

Check and replace T'Con board.

Somehow when switching between the tv and the dvd my wife encountered the pink and green, thin, parallel, vertical lines on the screen. The picture was visible with the lines. I turned the tv off and on but the problem persisted. Unplugged tv for about two minutes and after plugging it back in and turning it on the vertical lines very gone and the picture was back to normal.

Your sympton need to be more specific, but if what you see is 1 or more tiny lines running from top to bottom of screen (verticaly) and those lines change colors (red/green) depending on the background color on the screen, then your control board need to be replaced, you will need your TV model and product code, both located in the back of the TV next to serial number

It is a very simple fix. Replace the LVDS cable will fix it. This cable connect the mainboard to the panel.
