Is the manual in English? How and from where do I download NZ road Maps? The Japanese maps are on a CD. Can I get the NZ maps on a CD? Will it be compatible?

You can change its map to NZ . Its manual has details about it, how to install language, maps from your desktop, updating etc. If you have its manual, refer to it. If you haven't the manual, send your Email address to me by Fixya. I'll send the copy of it to you. It is a large file in Adobe Acrobat Format, and I can't send it to you by this site. OK.

Hello ...... I don't remember the exact website from which I've downloaded it. It has been downloaded at about a month back I thinks. Anyway, it is English language. I'll sedn it to you now itsef. Hopes it will help you. Expect it within 15 minutes from now. OK.

I've send the user manual of your GPS by Gmail, a few seconds ago. It is an Adobe Acrobat document, and read it well and vivid with Adobe Reader verson 8 or above. I'm working with Adobe Acrobat Reader-10. If you feel any difficulty in downloading the same, inform me. OK>

I have no Idea. You might try disconnecting the car battery and holding the battery terminals together for a minute then retry.

it can be reprogrammed but only by a toyota dealer,its gonna cost a LOT.

To the best of my knowledge thi is a dedicated japanese GPS and was never released to the International market. As for maps to use in NZ I doubt that they would even bother to make any considering the population and the low return.
The best GPS for your use with excellent service follow up and great maps even for NZ is the Altina.( Forget Garmin and TOMTOM they have too many problems as seen on this forum)
Type Marbella Australia in your browserwho are the distributors and look at the Altina 8010 or the A860 which is the super model with camera coordinates, create youre own tracks etc etc

Changing AVIC DR100 to New Zealand setting

Hello,
You can set the language by following the steps below.

1.Press MENU button. go to SYSTEM SETTINGS.
2.Touch LANGUAGE in SYSTEM SETTINGS MENU.
3.Touch the key next to PROGRAM LANGUAGE
4. SELECT your desired language.
