Dyson DC33 Bagged Upright Vacuum Logo

Right out of the box, the vaccuum has been making the grinding noise indicating that something is blocking the beater bar. There is nothing blocking the beater bar, but the clutch piece appears to drop lower than the indicator line for carpets when extended for normal carpet vaccuuming. The noise is happening intermittently on the carpet setting. Do we have to take it back to the store, or is there a fix for this problem?

I found the fix for the dc 33. Open up the cover to the beater bar. look at the cover. You will see many small triangles. Look very closely for a small rubber strip that runs along the edge where the triangles are. It is kinda hard to see. Once you find it remove it. Now on the vacuum itself there is another strip. This strip is very similar but a little longer. Remove that strip. No more **** noise whalla. The perfect Dyson!

What does a flashing light on the dc28 vaccuum mean

There are a few things a flashing light could mean. One is that the beater bar has something stuck on it. Or, it could be that the bag or canister is full. Then again, maybe something is stuck in one of the intakes. Be careful when checking the beater bars. Unplug the vacuum before touching them, you wouldn't want your hands getting injured or fingers broken:( Clear anything that is wrapped around the beater bars, hair, string, etc., and then check the hoses to make sure nothing is stuck in them. If you have suction, the interior is clear. If not, then check in there to make sure nothing is clogging it. Good luck and be careful:)

My beater bar makes a noise and has a crack in the motor on the beater bar and is discolored--me thinks I need a new motor for the beater bar

Sounds like you're right. New motors are available at your nearest Aerus Electrolux store. They used to charge the same amount for selling the motor and letting the buyer install it, or for installing it in the shop. Worth checking in to.

Power head on epic 6500 does not work, is there a belt?

This is a bot of a blind guess, I don't know the model. But most power head cleaners I have worked on use the suction of the vaccuum to spin a turbo fan in the head (like blowing a child's windmill). The head not spinning is usually because there's not enough **** to spin the turbo fan. Check for:
Gummed up brush bearings (dirt or damp) making the brush harder to turn than it should be.
Poor suction caused by a blocked or partially blocked pipe.
An obstruction that is tactchin the beater or the turbo fan.
Blocked filters on the cleaner, reducing the **** and thereby not providing enough vaccuum to spin the beater.

Dyson animal

Is the noise a loud screaming or a grinding/vibration? The screaming is an air flow problem and you'll want to check your hoses are clear and all the seals are tight. The grinding is an issue with the roller/belt/clutch/motor/housing. From what I'm reading, both problems are common on the Dyson animal.

The beater bar makes a horrible clunking noise when I turn it on

I just came from the repair shop. There is a recurring problem with a bearing coming out. Repair guy turned it on & said that loud noise is a symptom of that exact problem. This is a warranty item, as is the belt & on/off switch. Dyson comes with a 5 year warranty, so call their 800 number to get the name & address of an authorized repair shop.

Vaccuum stopped running

Belt jumped off beater bar and jammed it! Disconnect belt, does imotor run. If yes, reconnect belt turning beater bar by hand to see if it is smooth. Carefully, reassemble and run it!
