Hi maryseppanen
You can delet you files this way...the other problems may go away after you do this

BE SURE NOT TO DELETE YOUR FIRWARE, ONLY THE SONGS,FILES,ETC.
Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
BE CAREFUL and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

The built in speakers on my gogear 8gb mp4 player is not working. i've been using it for almost 2 years now :(

My ENT doctor said no more ear buds, no more ear phone so I Amazon purchase another GOGEAR Ariaz because they have an external speaker, or so I thought.

I tried all to get the speaker ARIAZ 16 gig to work. Nothing. Speaker does not work. The instruction manual that comes right on my 16 gig GoGear Ariaz is for titled GoGear AZURE!

AZURE! Where did that come from? The Azure manual does not show a speaker. Go figure. I do not think my Ariaz-Azure has a speaker. It does have Bluetooth that works for me OK with a Philips external Blue Tooth Speaker. No ENT correct external speaker on the player itself? Or am I wrong.

The tiny, tiny micro writing label on my "GOGEAR Ariaz" is a label for "SA5AZU16KF/37. Even though the Logo on the case of the GoGear is imprinted ARIAZ!

If I am wrong and my Philips Azure???-Ariaz has a speaker I would be pleased to know how to make the speaker work.

PS, I do own a GoGear ARIAZ 8G, and it does have a speaker that works for me.

16gb mp4 mp3 player

Hi Prabu
To answer what format does your player needS for video, it will be WMA.
For Pictures the format will be: JPEG, BMP
According to the user manual you will use "Songbird" to download videos to your player, the manual can be downloaded from this webpage: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=en&scy=us&ctn=SA4ARA16KF/37
User Manual Website: http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sa4ara16kf_37/sa4ara16kf_37_dfu_aen.pdf
If you need to download "Songbird":

www. philips.com/Songbird or www.philips.com/support.

Philips mp3 go gear, i can put songs on but then when i come to play it says media engine error.drm licence not available.

When the message 'Error' or 'License Issue' shows, it is referring to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) licences which are commonly found when downloading files. This is a method the music companies use to protect their music

How do I remove music folders which are write protected from the device?

It's quite a pain, isn't it? I had the same problem on a GoGear Vibe -- I'm guessing my answer will be similar to yours, though the menu options are probably a little different.

On the Vibe itself, I went under Settings > PC Connection Preference. MTP was selected, so I changed it to MSC. After that, I reconnected it to the PC, and was able to delete the 4 folders that were write-protected.

So what's the difference in MTP and MSC? MSC just connects like a plain old USB flash drive. It doesn't let the PC know it's dealing with an MP3 player. MTP tells the PC it's dealing with an MP3 player, and allows you to transfer and play copyright-protected content.

Trying to play my music which I have transfered from CD to my phillips MP3 player and it says File format not supported.

The device itself is not faulty. This is Microsoft's1.gif fault, not Philips'. Some of the songs may have Digital Rights Management (DRM) encoding that the SA6025 will not support. You can right click on the trouble music file, select "Properties," and select the License or Digital Right tab - look for the msg: This file is not copyright protected. Find out if the songs that CAN'T be transferred have this message. If so, then click on acquire digital rights (or some variant of that phrase). If the files tha CAN'T be transferred DO have Digital rights protection, then you must save the files in a different format that is stripped of DRM encryption.

There are a few possible answers:
1)Start simple - disconnect the GoGear from the computer - let it update - then reconnect it to the computer; if this fails, restart your computer and try syncing again

2)You need a firmware upgrade to make the device compatible with your computer: just open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website; click on the update tab

3) The songs have Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection.Try re-downloading the songs without DRM protection.

4) The songs are in a format not recognized by the GoGear. The GoGear, for instance, will not take iTunes files b/c they are AAC format. With MP3 files, the player supports 32 –320kbps. With WMA: 5-192kbps with sampling rate 8.0kHz up to 44.1kHz. Right click the song file, and select "Save As", and then change the format of the song file. Or, redonwload, in the above-said format.
