Hi,

First, connect the TV to a DVD player and observe if problem will still be there. If problem persists, then it mean the fault is from your TV's LCD inverter. Sometimes, a defective video cord can cause this type of problem, this is why I asked you to connect the TV to a DVD player.....

Your TV has a long board that is called LCD inverter board. This board is defective or dying.

This long LCD inverter board's only job is to provide the TV LCD screen panel to have a back-light to the LCD screen panel to produced a picture.

Try websites like shopjimmy.com, ebay.com to buy a refurbish long LCD inverter board for the replacement.

If you are not a TV expert, please take the TV to a repairman for the LCD inverter replacement. This is not expensive to fix...

Note that TV store current, so wait for some minutes before attempting to open the TV's back cover.

Regards.

Tv powers on but no picture or sound

Take a flashlight, dim the lights in the room and shine the light on the panel with the set on. If you see a faint picture, you have a backlight problem. If you indeed do not have a picture or sound, you could be looking at a bad power supply or main board

With a dim picture even if lamp looks ok I would make it suspect number one---going to have to decide if you want to buy a new lamp to find out--average life is 1-2 thousand hours.

Magnaovox rear projection tv has too much red in the picture and it is blurry

Sounds like a coolant issue with the CRTs. Look into the lens of the green and blue CRTs and you should see what looks like bacteria if the coolant nees replacement. Usually the green and blue get contaminated which dims them and makes the red become dominate and the picture will get dim and out of focus.

The display has dimmed, and looks washed out (faded)

You most likely have a defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:
  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Red power light and buzzing sound with red lamp light.

My Sony lost its picture and had a flashing light. Unplugging for 36 hours solved the problem.

Power went low all things went dim since then are tv's are all red picture and sound fine but all red

You need to first: Unplug TV and let it sit 20 minutes.
Then replug it... Then you may have to set the red, blue and green guns if this is a projection TV>
