Could the needle be in backwards?
Flat shank to the back. Is the needle fully up into the housing?
If these check out okay then the timing could be off. If it hasn't been serviced in last 2years then it might be time for one.

Open-toe darning foot skips all stitches....help!

Hmm, have you installed a brand new needle? Make sure the needle is compatible with the thread and fabric. Sometimes a top stitch or microtex needle will work better for free motion quilting or darning.

My necchi sewing machine stitches too fast

A lot of machines have a speed control, either on the machine or the foot control. I looked thru the manual and did not find anything about speed control. Look under the foot control for a screw that may have a + and - . Otherwise, you may want to take it back to see if service can adjust it for you.

My machine is skipping stitches

before adjusting the tensions always note where they were. and always put back if it worked there before then they were right. now try the needle is it bent? try cleaning it I use canned air. get the lint out easier than the brush they send with the machine. and maybe the fabric you are using needs a special needle for stretchyfabric. hope this helps good luck
