You have a bad capacitor in the power supply. But I must say the quest for repairs do not stop here. You will need to also inspect the signal board. In the signal board (has all your RCA and RF connections) you will certainly find several bad capacitors. You will need an ESR meter and lots of patience and replacement capacitors to fix this TV. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

LC-23Y25 Problem with turning on power?

so i had the same problem. red light came on, but no blue light or anything on the screen. it turns out that there were some capaciters blown on the circuit power board. unless you have a good understanding of circuit boards, its not a quick fix. but for someone who knows their electronics, its not too hard, and its not expensive to fix, unless you bring it into a store. but the supplies needed arent expensive. good luck

Hitachi Plasma TV model P50H401

I think you have problems with the digital main PWB.

If the power PWB failed, turn off and change the pilot ligth to red.
