It will be set at base settings, you will need to fine tune from there, the mixture screwsrequire a special tool to adjust them part no. 530035560 the screw heads have a star not a screw driver slot, max free running speed should not exceed 12500 +- 500 rpm they are not the easiest machine to tune due to the X Torque cylinder design.

You need to pressure test the carb, if the needle is leaking you will never get to run well, if you have fitted a new rubber tipped needle and it still leaks you will have to replace the carb, the later carb was a Zama rather than the Walbro, it made the saw run so much better.

I have a 240 husqvarna saw have used 3 tanks of gas now it wont prime

The primer pulls fuel from the metering side of the carb, if there is no fuel here it is because either the fuel filter in the tank is blocked, or the fuel hose is trapped, or the non return valve in the carb itself is stuck, this can happen if the saw has been left with a rich oil mixture left in it.

I have a husqvarna 350 that wont start, wondering if anyone can tell me what is the factory compression rating?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly You should have 120 PSI or greater compression. There is a ported compression release so you may see as little as 110 PSI but it is best to see 120 or greater.

The Owners manual is here:
http://www.northerntool.com/downloads/manuals/195946.pdf

carb basic settings are on page 29 of the manual.

The saw has a Zama C3-EL18 carb.
The manual for the carb is here:
http://www.zamacarb.com/pdfs/TechGuide_2007.pdf (Click and wait 2.50 mb)
Your carb is the C3

The workshop manual for the saw is here:

Huskvarna 240 isnt getting any gas? there is spark

Carefully check the integrity of the gas line in the tank...make SURE the fuel filter is absolutely clean. If that's all OK, maybe you need a carb kit....try not to run ethanol gas if you can...it destorys small carbs on chainsaws.

I just rebuilt my zama carburetor on my husqvarna saw and it still doesnt run right and i have blowed out my fuel filter and checked all lines and even tried to adjist the carburetor and it still cranks...

Check there are no kinks in fuel line.
Make sure that the air filter isn't blocked.
Check the throttle cable is operating the throttle plate in the carburettor ok.
Ensure chain isn't too tight.
The carburettor should be a tight fit on the air inlet manifold.
It's possible that some of the jets could be blocked in the carburettor. You can try and clean these with compressed air but ensure you remove any seals gaskets, springs on the diaphragm pump , primer bulb etc as they can be damaged by the pressure.
You can also buy
an aerosol can of starter fluid at your local autoparts store. This is sprayed into the carburettor to clear any partial blockages.

I have a husky 240e saw and i just rebuilt the carburetor and it will crank up and go dead and i pull it a few more times and it will do the same thing so what should i do now and i have blowed it out...

The 235/240E had major main bearing problems, the bearing cage on the clutch side breaks up and pinches the piston ring in, if the machines has a good spark and clean carb, i would be looking to check the it is mechanically sound, unfortunatley this means a full strip down, let me know if you need more help, i have done very many of these machines.

Husqvarna 51 died and wont restart

hi
if you have a good compression,a strong enough blue spark and carburetion for the fuel air mixture try priming the engine(put small amount of gas in the spark plug hole)then start the engine. If the engine runs only the gas you put inside the cilinder there is a carburetion problem to find and fix.
let me know regards savumihai71
