I have a pair of Jamo Laser 2000P speakers, and the rubber support for the bass units is perished. Where can i find the correct replacements?

Possible this is a distortion from the Amplifier if the speakers are not damaged. however it is important to switch the speakers to confirm if the fault is relative to the particular channel in which case the amplifier is faulty. If not the speaker can be the culprit. All what is needed is to reduce the BASS level a bit lower when the volume is increased so as to allow the cross over to work. Also if teh cross- over network is faulty within the speaker the bass can vibrate on the tweeter.

Replacing the defective woofer is probably the only answer...

Thin rubber sealing strip tube (hollow in the centre thus compressible, lightly glued/ fixed into the rebate and screw the speaker in on top of it. It would have to be thin enough not to interfere with the speaker mechanics, even when it squashes. Maybe a window maker could source something like that? I dont think foam would be rigid enough which is why i suggested rubber.
If you haven't already ground off the corners I'd speak to the supplier with a view to getting the correct replacement, but then presumably you would have done that anyway.

What do you mean that it sometimes doesn't work? It doesn't power on automatically?
Check settings of your receiver - if it has subwoofer output enables and if low frequencies from all channels are directed also to the SUB. By default only the LFE channel (.1) of 5.1 signal input is fed to the subwoofer. So Sub will work in this case only when you listen to 5.1 signal (DVD movie for example), but for radio or stereo music, only front speakers are used. By configuring this bass redirect, you can use subwoofer for all signal types.
