Get a soldering iron, some solder and solder wick. Use the wick and the iron to remove the solder off of the legs of the cap. Remove the cap. Install the new cap exactly the same direction the old one was in. With solder and iron, solder the legs on to the board. Cut off the extra length of the legs and you are done.

Magnavox 37" model 37mf231d-37 wont tun on when i hit power button the screen lights up for a secongd and turns right back to black and the power button green light comes on and right back off I found

Your power supply is weak. If you think you can repair this I will tell you how. If you cannot do this, find someone who works electronics and share this repair. Two capacitors are bad. When pulling the back cover off, you may see one or two capacitors bulged. Even if they look good....replace these capacitors. The locations are numbered and, the capacitor having a value and temperature of 105 degrees.. Location of the first capacitor is 2074, value 25volts @ 2200 mf @ 105 degrees and will most certainly be bulged. The next capacitor may look fine....replace it. That capacitor location is 2066, value is 35 volts @ 1200mf @ 105 degrees. When you replace these, please be sure to get the polarity (positive leg and negative leg) of these capacitors seated correctly...this is a must. This will correct your TV. You will save lots of money, because you asked. Thanks for listening ..good luck...we will be here for your next repair.

Magnavox 37'' lcd will not startup

Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look to see if you have any DC voltage at the output connectors.

I have the same model 37MF321D/37 and the Blinking Light

I fixed it by replacing the two capacitors with 3300uf 25v instead of Magnavox's 3300uf 10v and a power swith that I ordered from http://www.encompassparts.com/. Also I did have a power supply put in from a repair place that cost $160.00. It is working perfect now and no blinking light.
