My insignia NS-2v17b MP3 player will only play 3 songs. The other 56 songs downloaded on it are skipped. While trying to go between songs the MP3 player will beep several times. I counted and it beeps for every song that it is skipping. I had a trial membership to the Best Buy Digital Music Store where I downloaded all my songs from. Now the membership is expired and I have to pay to get anymore songs. Is this why the other songs on my MP3 player are not playing?

Yes. You have to have an active account to keep listening to those songs. On another note (no pun intended) anything that you OWN in your music files will play for you.
I quit the subscription from Best Buy, deleted the songs I didn't own and now I am satisfied.

How to delete songs put onto mp3 by another computer

If you wish to remove all of the music from your device, follow these steps

1. Press the Menu button
2. Select "settings"
3. Select "system"
4. Select "erase all"

If you wish to remove certain songs but not all, Insignia recommends using Best Buy Rhapsody to manage the files on your device. The program recognizes the MP3 player and Files can be dragged between your MP3 player and Rhapsody. Even tho this perticular model is discontinued, they still have the manual online. Go to the website and put the Model number in and click the appropriate model(it shows NS-DA1G and NS-DA2G). The next page has all the manuals and information you should need

Insignia ns 2v17b froze and won t turn back on? PLEASE HELP!!!

the solution to this is to unplug the batery from the player itself. you have to open it by taking a jewellers screwdirver, pry out the rubber cover from the back. it is the only one that is on the battery cover. after doing so it will reveal a philipps head screwdriver. simply unscrew it and unplug. be very careful and pry the sides of the battery cover slowly sliding and prying downwards.. unplug and plug back in again.

the solution to the other problem here is that you guys and gals are unplugging the player prematurely meaning. You just simply unplug it from the your computer w/o safely removing your hardware. by doing this straight unplugging from the pc, yu are corrupting the hard drive on your usb and eventually end up breaking it.

Technical assistance

Well the songs you are trying to put on your mp3 player are probably too big. You can change your settings in Windows Media Player or (whatever program you use to sync the songs) to convert the songs to mp3 format and change the quality. I suggest changing it to 128 or lower quality. Hopes this helps you out.

Make this thing play the songs in the order they are on the CD

you can do one of two things. rename the songs with starting with 1, 2, 3, etc. Or make playlists and use them. The playlists play in the order the song is added to it.

INSIGNIA MP3 PLAYER

I had this problem also and I think I figured it out because now my music will play. I took the songs I had from limewire, highlighted them all and clicked "save as", opened it with windows media player and on wmp I took my playlist and named it on there....first I synched the songs under "sync" and they would upload on my player but they would NOT play. I got the same stupid error message. So after they were uploaded onto my mp3 player, i dragged all of the songs onto the right side to make a sync list AGAIN and clicked start sync, all of the files said "already on device" so I kind of got mad thinking it still didn't work...when I unplugged it and tried to play the song, they ACTUALLY PLAYED. I fought with this for so long and contemplated about throwing the stupid thing down the toilet but for whatever reason, synching it in two different ways in that order, it worked and it stopped saying "error:can't open this file"...hope this works for you and anyone else having this problem because I know how frustrating this got for me. hope this helps. Good luck!!!

I can't Download Videos on my insignea any more..

One possible cause for this is improper format of the video file. I just got an Insignia Pilot, and the player is very specific as to the format of the video files it will play. I'd recommend taking the video files you want to add, and converting them using the Arcsoft Media software that came with the player. I have to run all of my video files through the conversion process before the player will recognize them. Hope this helps!
