The instructions in these pages, which are largely links, pertain to Windows Media Player 10 and 11 only.

Windows Media Player is made by Microsoft. The general help page for Windows Media Player is:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.mspx

Through this link, you can enter a variety of search terms that will help you find what you are looking for (exs.: “add files to my mp3 player”; “delete files from my mp3 player,” etc.)

Important Vocabulary:

The code word for “mp3 player” in Windows Media Player is “DEVICE” or “portable device”

The code word for adding files is “SYNC,” “syncing,” or “synchronizing”

The code word for copying files from CD is “RIP,” or “ripping”

The code word for files stored on both My Computer and my Mp3 player (when it is connected to the computer) is “LIBRARY”

To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/wmp10/harrison_wmp10.mspx

To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/sync.mspx

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0085.mspx#EDF

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

My Directions:

1. Connect your mp3 player to the computer

2. Open Windows Media Player

3. Click on the icon of your Mp3 player on the left-hand side of the Library

4. Click on the Songs, Tracks, or other Music Folder

5. Find a song or songs that you want to delete

6. Left-click the song once to highlight it

7. Press the “Delete” button on your computer’s keyboard

To copy (RIP) files from CD to Mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/getstarted/ripcd.mspx

To copy (RIP) files from CD to Mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

How do I print a manual for my RCA mp3

  • Go to this link to get your manual http://www.retrevo.com/support/RCA-M4202-MP3-Players-manual/id/19697ci468/t/2/
  • When you click on "download this document" it will download the manual onto your PC.
  • Then to print the manual you can either go to where the file was downloaded onto your PC and open it then you have two options to print. Go to "files" and then scroll to "print" or you can just right click on the page and then left click on "print."

I have steinberg clean 4 & 5 but both versions only show CPF file choice .i want to save as wav.

On the File menu you will find an option named "Export Audiotrack as WAV" as well as "Export Audiotrack as MP3". This will allow you to Save or Export the files you create as either the .wav format or the .mp3 format. Check your Help file, specifically page 86, if you need further information.

I was told that the only way to download CD books was use Audible.com....a site where you have to buy the books. I confirmed this with a second call to RCA... So I returned the MP3

  • You will need USB cable .
  • It will be provided with your mp3 player.
  • Connect your RCA MP3 player to your computer with the USB cable that came with the player. Plug one end into the Opal player and plug the other end into your computer's USB port.
  • Open the Rca's USB flash drive. Click "Start." Click "My Computer." Click the "USB Mass Storage Drive."
  • Open another "My Computer" window, and locate the music that you wish to download onto your RCA MP3 player. Click "Start." Click "My Computer." Click "My Documents." Click "My Music."
  • Drag and drop the music files you wish to download onto your mp3 player's "Internal Storage" folder (for Windows Vista) or the "Media" folder (for Windows XP).

An error on my rca mp3 jet says fat error

Not really sure of the options there but here is a fix that works on rca H106

Go to settings and go to advanced press play once only. Plug into computer and it wil recognize it as a flash drive. Completely Format the drive then unplug the player from computer. It will switch back to previous setting automatically. If you need to update drivers and firmware use the auto updater from http://www.voxxsupport.com/images/downloads/autoupdater.exe

I copied cd audio files onto mp3 player and need to change to a audio type that is supoerted

First of all you have to RIP your files from Audio Disc. To do that you can use Windows Media Player. Start Windows Media Player, in top of the screen you should have a button " RIP ", click it. Click Start and then you cand find the files by default in My Music folder from My Documents. Then copy the Ripped Files to the MP3 player. This work only if your mp3 player supports wma files if not try to download Audio Grabber ( http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/download.html ) to RIP files from Audio cd in mp3 format. After you ripped the files copy them to mp3 player.

I lost my cd with the software for my RCA LYRA MP3 - RD2010

What kind of system you are using? if its windows XP you shouldnt need a cd XP will recongise it. If its windows 98 you can download the drivers and firm at the rca site (link down a few lines) When RCA first came out with the Lyra series the only way to get music onto the device was by using musicmatch jukebox that would convert your mp3 file to mpy before downloading it to the device. But now RCA has come out with a new firm ware update for these mp3 players that improved the players playback quality plus enabled it to use .WMA files. so first go to RCA support http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/select.aspx?u=downloads and find your player and download the firmware and drivers (if needed) upgrade and install to your player its very easy and instructions are at the same site. You can now convert your music to .wma or use the free Real player that will convert mp3 to wma at the kbps that you request before loading it on. If your music is all ready in wma format you can use windows media player to send the files to your player. One last thing the .wma files that you put on your Lyra player need to be at least 128kbps or higher enhanced playback quality of wma files (160 kbps to 256 kbps).
