My z50 cub cadet starts fine but when I release the parking brake it dies. I checked the 20 amp fuse and its good. Pushed in the safety switch on the seat and still dies. What could it be?

While seat occupied, the safety relay is energized and opens the seat to PTO switch and Brake switch kill circuits.
Check the operation of the safety relay.
With engine off and key in RUN position you should hear the relay click when you sit in the seat (remove your seat switch bypass and reconnect seat switch).
Troubleshoot by checking continuity from the M (magneto) pole of the ignition switch to ground. It should be open (no continuity from M pole to ground.
Methodically disconnect switches until M pole to ground shows open. Then test suspected switch.
A DMM or an inexpensive auto circuit lamp tester will do.
There is also a safety switch for each of control arms, they both have to be in the neutral position. You may have to adjust the arms.
Are you checking the resistance at the switches?
one of the safety switches are bad it could be the seat are the clutch are the blade switch you can try jumping a wire to the posts after you unplug them one at a time
