My new (used) Sony Trintiron recently took a fall and the screen was damaged. The damage appears to be a gash approximately 4-41/2 inches long and 1/4 inch wide. Is there a way I can fix this or get a replacement screen?

Based on your description, it sounds like your Blaupunkt 32-inch flatscreen TV may have a damaged screen. The ink-like appearance and brief flicker followed by a dark screen are indicative of a physical crack or damage to the screen. Check the main filter capacitors at its power regulator board. Replace if found bulged or damaged. Replace all secondary side supply rails' filter capacitors too. The fault is with damaged electrolytic capacitors at the power regulator board itself.

The lenses in the TV are more than likely misaligned due to heat from lamp. The heat can cause the lenses to move and the red shaded horizontal line appears over time because the lenses fall out of alignment.

You just need to have the lenses realigned and the red shading will go away.

None that last very long. A new exchanger and keeping the chemicals in check moving forward is your best bet.

Of course you can try to have a radiator shop fix it but I have had mixed success with those and it seems to depend on how much of the remaining copper is thin and/or damaged but not leaking yet.

Unfortunately the LCD panel would need to be replaced. Even if there is not any signs of damage to the outside portion of the panel, one of the inner screens may have been fractured. I am not sure if the panel would be available because if i'm not mistaken Sharp just started making replacement panels.

This sounds like you have a broken lcd screen. If you feel comfortable with replacing the screen you can purchase a new screen off ebay.
If you are not comfortable I would recommend cellulardr.com they sound pretty reasonable as far as price goes.

take the front screen off inspect it, wipe down the tubes and mirror with paper towels and a glass cleaner dont overspray. try that. good luck
