Projector posted error, "replace bulb" Projector

I am experiencing the exact same problem. hope someone comes on worn a solution. projector worked fine before replacement - all fans have been cleaned and are working properly. ..

If the projector is not getting a source it might go on standby maybe check where you plug it in.
Projectors require quite a bit of power and should be on a single loop/outlet not hooked up to a powerbar with more things on it.

open the bulb assembly and check if the bulb has fused / broken into pieces.if not then the ballast unit that powers the bulb is at fault and needs replacement
if the bulb has fused/broken , then probably the bulb that u had replaced 3 months back wasnt genuine!

Like a previous post I too had the same issue with my Benq MW516 - after a 15 minutes working the light would turn off and the TEMP and LAMP lights come on red and would not turn off until the unit was turned off. I found the problem was a very dusty cooling fan for the light bulb and after using compressed air (do NOT let any fan spin up - this can damage the fan, hold it and rotate slowly after unplugging it from the logic board first). Once I dusted out the entire projector it is back to running just fine.

I recently had a similar problem after replacing my lamp the set would work for 22 mins then go into standby for 30 sec then come back on, then repeats, I decided to experiment with the lamp housing, I removed the new lamp, unscrewed the top of the lamp that holds the actual bulb then switched out the main housing (bottom part) with the original housing, that seemingly has corrected my problem, you may want to try if the replacement lamp did not come from Sony...good luck

This is a faulty Mainboard that will need either repair or replacement.

If a Projector starts playing on and off tricks I have found it to be 99% of the time a faulty Mainboard.

This is due to thermistor problem. Near to the lamp one thermistor will be there please check connectivity. if it is failed please change the same.

the color wheel is dirty. It just need to be cleaned.
