Hello, I am the office manager for a company called Larry's Locksmithing. The business is operated out of his home. The business has been increasingly installing alarm systems with DVRs. Larry has learned how to network the DVRs and be able to access the camera systems by typing in the IP address. Now, in the home office Larry has a Speedstream 5200 Modem and a Linksys WRT160N which enables all the computers in the household wireless internet. Larry also has a DVR which he wants to be able to port forward from the speedstream 5200 to allow him to access the DVR by typing in the IP address at a different location. We have tried several things. We can access the speedstream 5200 by typing in 192.168.254.254 and are able to login. When we attempt to port forward using the protocol TCP and ports 148 to 148 (which is the trigger port for the DVR) and select Redirect selected protocol/service to IP Address: 192.168.1.110 (which is the IP address to the DVR) and push apply it states: NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address. Now we have no idea what this means. Does it mean the speedstream 5200 is too old of a modem to have this function or are we going something else wrong. Please respond when you can or email a number that I can call to get more help on this pressing issue. Thank for your cooperation and help. Erin Bowen Larry's Locksmithing

Well thank your very much for this suggestion. I will give it a shot but I know Larry has tried doing something similiar to this and trying to set the modem into bridge mode messes up the internet and does not allow wireless internet to the household. But thank you we will give it a try.

Thank you for using FixYa

I am going to attempt and I say attempt to give you a solution. After much research I find that this issue has come up before since about 2003 on those series of modems. I found one solid reference that solved the issue. Their solution was to set the modem to Bridge and do the port fowarding in the Linksys router. I do not know if this will help you in your setup but it is at least worth the suggestion. I am sure your Speedstream is out of warranty by now and you are unable to get back to the supplier, who may have other suggestions. Those modems have come through an evolution of updates as you might have guessed and the solution may be getting another kind.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

For further information, the Linksys wireless router has a firmware revision v2 and in this you can set up port forwarding on the router.

    See this link for infor.

    good luck.

I have xp i have 512 MB RAM and P3 processer but i cant not install ms office 2007

In order to install any software, it is imperative to ensure that the computer in question meets or exceeds the minimum requirements.

Foremost, Microsoft Office Basic/Standard/Home & Student/Professional/Small Business/Professional Plus/Enterprise 2007 require a CD-ROM or DVD drive. Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 requires a DVD drive.

Microsoft Office Basic/Standard/Home & Student/Professional/Small Business/Professional Plus/Enterprise/Ultimate 2007 requires a system that has at least 500 MHz (since a Pentium III can range in speed from 450 MHz to 1.4GHz, it seems likely that you've met this specification); & at least 256 MB of RAM (your system's 512 MB meets this & is the minimum amount recommended for Outlook Instant Search).

However, you did not make mention of which service pack (1, 2, or 3) that is installed on your version of MS Windows XP (MS Office Basic/Standard/Home & Student/Professional/Small Business/Professional Plus/Enterprise/Ultimate 2007 requires at least SP2); nor did you mention how much free disk space is on your system. MS Office Basic/Standard/Home & Student 2007 requires at least 1.5 GB (MS Office Professional/Small Business/Professional Plus/Enterprise 2007 requires at least 2 GB of free disk space & MS Office Ultimate 2007 requires at least 3 GB of free disk space. Also, MS Office Basic/Standard/Home & Student/Professional/Small Business/Professional Plus/Enterprise 2007 requires an Internet browser comparable to at least Internet Explorer 6 (IE6).

By the way, OneNote Instant Search & OneNote Audio Search require a CPU of at least 2 GHz & at least 1 GB of RAM. 1 GB of RAM is also the minimum requirement for grammar & contextual spelling in Word. Business Contact Manager requires a CPU of at least 1 GHz & at least 512 MB of RAM. Since you did not mention your exact iteration of MS Win XP (Home/Professional/Professional 64-Bit), it is important to note that "Send to OneNote 2007" print driver, Internet Fax, & Groove Folder Synchronization are not available on 64-bit operating systems.

Furthermore, I do not find it reasonable to quote any more specifications such as those for MS Office Accounting products unless found necessary, besides such specs are readily available at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/2007-microsoft-office-release-system-requirements-HA010166865.aspx?CTT=1.

It is entirely possible that the cause of installation failure could be a faulty optical disk drive (CD/DVD/etc.) an invalid product key or perhaps an operating system (OS) which the installation deems to not be genuine.
