Linksys password... hi there ginko about your idea on linksys router I will disagree on that because I've work for linksys for almost 4 years and we don't have router that has a defaul password of blank and username admin and also with linksys routers it vary on different model what the username and password is,, But until now the most common even on the ne router is admin for the password and username is blank same as before... this is just to let you know.. thank you...

Hi there! :) just follow the steps to reset your router hope it works! :)
1.Press and hold the reset button on the LinkSys router for 30 seconds. The location of the reset button varies depending on your model, but it is usually located in a small pin hole on the side or back of the unit. Insert a straightened paper clip into the hole until you feel resistance. A hard reset occurs and the router is restored to its factory defaults.
2.Log in and reconfigure the router following the hard reset. Connect a PC to an Ethernet port on the router. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.1/. A popup box opens, prompting you to log in. On older LinkSys routers, leave the username field blank and type "admin" for the password. On newer routers, the default username and password are both set to "admin".
3.Go to the Management tab after you've logged in and set a new administrator password. For maximum security, choose a password comprised of random letters and numbers. This type of password is secure because it's impossible to guess.
4.Enable WEP or WAP security so that nosy neighbors cannot tap into your wireless network.

You may want to check thr router's settings. There is a web number that you type into your browser that will give you access to the router settings. It is possible that your line connections doesn't have a signal running through it . If you have fios..check your box. If you have cable check your modem

Step 1 : Connect - Router - Computer ( Wired )

Step 2 : open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 3 : Default password is admin

Step 4 : Click wireless

Step 5 : Choose wireless security

Step 6 : Here you can find the Password

Step 7 : Try to connect with this password

Please follow the below mentioned steps to find the Network

Step 1: Connect the Computer to the Router

Step 2: Open an Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 and Click on Enter button in the keyboard.It will ask for Username and Password

UserName: Leave it Blank (No need to type any thing)
Password:admin

Step 3: Now you will be able to see the Router Setup page

Step 4: On the top of this page click on Wireless and then Wireless Security

Step 5: You will be able to see the Security key or Passphrase,this is your network key

You can download/install the software for it (ideally you still have the CD) and run it. You can connect to the router via an ethernet cable and set the password to what ever you want

if the password doesn't work, leave the username empty and password admin

if that doesn't work press and hold the reset button for 30seconds or more to restore default settings.
