Sir, I bought a Sony ericsson zylo during August 2010 and was using without any problems. For the last one week I found the following problem: The phone does not wortk on sliding, no light on the screen, but the dial light is on. Without sliding the phone is working, except that I cannot dial a number or write a message. Pl. advise me as to what should be done. Thanking you Radhakrishnan pillai Kochi, India
I experienced very similar or the same problem.
Display at my mobile (Sony Ericsson W20i Zylo) phone started working improperly - part of its screen was not redrawed initially and later (in few days) did not work at all.
After finding on www I got know that it could be damaged flat ribbon cable connecting the body of the phone to slide part.
I ordered spare cable on ebay.com, downloaded a service manual (see links below) and tried to repair. It spent about 2 hours, but mobile works again now.

Spare cable can be get e.g on ebay (try find New Sony Ericsson W20 W20i Zylo LCD Flex Cable Flat Ribbon Connector Replacement)
Remarks:
It is recommended to read carefully working instructions and see videos before you start repairing.
I was afraid to remove flat with the camera and side keys (there is written - not to be reused - in manual) so I was not able to get to the screw below the camera and not fully disassembly the slider from the body. At last I had to gently rotate mutually the slider and the body so as it was possible to pull out the old flat cable and reinstall a new one.
The screw below the camera stayed untightened but it seems it does not matter.
Recognize length of screws (2 lenghts) and remember where they were.
unlocking ZIF connectors (below keyboard): turn up little dark bar laying on connector. This releases the flat cable. Try it on the narrowest connector at first.
Tip:
Before peeling stickers make photos of them so as you could easily print and cut new ones.
Good luck. Jiri Klima
