Note: A reset of a BlackBerry smartphone does not delete any settings or data.
There are two options for performing a reset: a hard reset and a soft reset.
A hard reset involves physically removing thebattery from the BlackBerry smartphone and then reinserting it. Toperform a hard reset, complete the following steps:
A soft reset is a three-key combination that resetsthe BlackBerry smartphone without removing the battery. It is onlyavailable on BlackBerry smartphone models with a QWERTY keyboard. Donot attempt to perform a soft reset on BlackBerry smartphones that areequipped with SureType® technology or the SurePress™ touch screen, suchas the BlackBerry® Pearl™ Series, BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip Series, andBlackBerry® Storm™ smartphone.
To perform a soft reset, complete the following steps:

1. Install the software Desktop Manager
2. Delete or rename the vendor.xml file, here: C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
3. Open Desktop Manager
4. Connect Curve 8520
5. Doing this will force the pc to see the BlackBerry as new hardware, and thus force it to reload the Operating System
6. During the process, select YES to do a backup
7. The whole process should take about 1 hour

download a BB desktop manager ,install it and then connect your phone to the pc via the cable ,let the pc install the drivers o the phone be patient , your desktop manager will recognize your phone , there is one option name update device ,click on that and follow the instructions ur phone will be updated online and your prob will be solved , if u still need assistance mail me at [email protected]

just re install the blackberry operatind system software into ur fon from ur computer................and go on ....................or u can take off the battery and put it into again and press the return key when the red light goes off and till ur cell completly opens dont leave the return key..............it opens ur cell in safemode and u can deal with the error in safe mode
