My Dad just passed away and his Dr. K Phantom 3 wheel scooter won't run. When I plug the charger in, it says its fully charged. When I unplug it..it reads E..I want to donate this to a nursing home locally but I would like it to run without me having to buy anything. Can you tell me what to check for? I have no manual for it.

Tar the batteries are probably too low to charge with the scooter charger and need to be replaced. With the charger plugged in it will indicate a full charge beacuse its reading the output of the charger but when you unplug it the batteries are too low to indicate any voltage. hope this helps you

Phantom battery won't charge

Hello

Are you sure your battery charger is working correctly. Have you tried it on another battery? Possibly, there is a wiring problem, or your battery is the type that needs distilled water - Try another known good and charged battery with your scooter before purchasing a new one to ensure that the wiring is not faulty.

Charging your power chair or scooter the correct way can make them last

Whenever you need to charge your power chair or scooter get into the habit of charging overnight. The battery level indicator lights will tell you if your chair or scooter needs charging. Whenever the lights are down into the yellow and especially if they are in the red. If you have the off-board charger, plug the charger into the charger port in the front of your joystick and then plug the charger into the wall socket or turn the on/off switch on and let it charge overnight. When you get up in the morning the charger should have a red light(power) and a green light illuminated (indicating fully charged) Always turn the charger off or unplug it from the wall socket before you unplug it from the chair or scooter. Never have the power on to the charger when you plug or unplug it from your chair or scooter. Whenever you get new batteries always give your batteries a full charge before use and then if you use the chair daily charge it every night. If you do not use your chair or scooter daily charge it at least once a week. Never leave the charger plugged in and on for more than 24 hours. Your batteries should last you 3-4 years if you charge them correctly.

I need to know how to charge the batterie om my sisters merits wheelchair,i do not know how to plug it up,,or if the charger is located on the frame someplace or if its freestanding.plain and simple i do...

sking the off board charger is a 5 inch by 3 inch rectangular box with a power plug on one end and a round silver 3 prong plug on the other. The charger plugs into the charger port located under the front of the joystick. Plug the charger plug into the joystick and then into the wall socket. When it is fully charged the light on the chrager will turn from yellow to green. Unplug the power from the wall socket first then unplug from the joystick In ither words always have the charger unplugged when you plug the charger up to the chair Now if the chair has an onboard charger there should be a power cord that just plugs into the chair usually somewhere in the rear of the chair all you have to do is plug it into a wall socket and charge away Hope this helps you

Sundance will not take a charge. Breaker is good, front 5 amp fuse is good. All connections are good. Batteries are new. Can also drive away while charge plug is in wall socket. I understand there is a...

On the older sidekick(sundancer) there is an ATO fuse in a rubber boot under the pyramid shaped cover to the rear electronics console that runs to the meter on the pyramid. The newer sundancers have no rear fuse at the electronics tray for the charger. You more likely have a bad charger which is causing an inhibit condition. Usually the scooter will drive away with the charger plugged in until the capacitor drains (1 minute). By unplugging the charger you can get the scooter to run. Check the fuse and the meter connections, then replace the charger with the newer Maximizer style charger with the harness adapter kit.

Batteries won't charge

Hi. Sounds like there is a faulty connection somewhere between the charger and the batteries. Are the batteries connected correctly. The charger uses the voltage level in the batteries to regulate itself. If there is a faulty connection, then the charge will not operate. Use a multi-meter to check if the batteries are connected correctly. There should be 24 to 26 volts across both batteries.
This fault can also be caused by a faulty charger socket. Check for any signs of melting or heat damage. There might also be a disconnected wire in the plug on the charger itself.Good luck. Neil.

Just bought my dad a second hand go go 3 wheel elite scooter

Hi Linda. Sometimes if there is a blown fuse or faulty connector on the battery leads, the charger thinks the batteries are charged as the voltage coming out of the charger rises to the high level. Some chargers will cut out if this happens. It is probably not the charger.
Make sure the batteries are plugged in correctly, sometimes during transport they will get knocked and become disconnected.
Also make sure that the battery terminals are not loose where the wires connect to the batteries.
Good luck. Neil.
