Kirby G2000 how do you get the head off to check for clogs

HI Linda,
The G2000 kirby is the same procedure as the G5 Kirby. As it happens I put a solution up on YouTube showing how to change the belt and to do this you need to take the head off. Long story short if you watch my video you will see how to take the head off. If you need anything for your Kirby like kirby bags or kirby Belts just visit VacuumSpot

Gear shift fell out

This is an easy fix you do not have to fully remove transmission it does help to lower it down by removing screws. Then try to get the right angle and realign the splines I have fixed mine twice, the second time I put thread locker on it and have not had any problem. Steve

The screw on the bottom of the vaccum

Taking that screw out let the lever asm. come loose, you will have to stick it in until the screw hole lines up then put the screw in. You may have to take the transmission out if you can't do it while it is in.

Kirby Ultimate G runs heavy

Hi, I'm Jon IO used to sell these machines and I also own an Ultimate G, And sounds like to me it's a loose or broken transmission belt, I think you should have your local Kirby dealer take a look at it or even a good quality vacuum shop will be able to look at it.

Kirby G5 Transmisson

I know the lever you're describing, but it's very hard to tell someone how to put it back on. There's nothing wrong with your transmission, by the way, this is a part that's meant to be moveable, and it just happened to slip off in your case. You may call us at 1-866-509-1952, and we can do our best to help you.

My G3 works with the hose, but not with the Tech Drive

Try removing the nozzle and poking a screwdriver in the little slot for the safety switch and seeing if it runs. Maybe the nozzle's poker isn't pushing it in adequately?
