There are usually two types of warranties that can come with a notebook. To check the warranty you need to either contact the notebook manufacturer for the manufacturer warranty. Or contact the store you bought it from for the store warranty.

Serial number and snid number for an acer iconia tablet so i can get the screen repaired

If you can see the screen partially you can get the code SN and SNID by the following route

Go to Settings
About tablet
Device Information
At the bottom will be the SNID and code SN

Comment back if you can't get it this way.

When the notebook boots up, press f2 for setup and choose restore default settings on the bios screen

How can I find my SNID from my gateway? I do NOT have a barcode or anything on the bottom of my laptop. I need this number to register my product so that I can get a new power cord under warranty.

Per gateway support, during startup, tab F2 into the setup bios screen and select system information to get the SNID

How can you decipher the snid from the serial number?

I'm not sure if you can. I think they are both separate numbers entirely. They both show up on the stick on the under side of my acer laptop. The SNID is 11 characters (numbers only) long and the S/N is 22 characters (alpha and numbers)
