Your Carrier 38CKC042 Air Conditioner has a cooling capacity of 3.5 Tons.

See the performance specs and cooling capacities for all different models of 38 CKC models listed at the Carrier Support page at the following link:

http://www.commercial.carrier.com/wcs/prod_physicaldata/0,2734,CLI1_DIV41_ETI4925_PRD657,00.html

And here is the Online Owner's Manual for that model from the Carrier website:

http://www.docs.hvacpartners.com/idc/groups/public/documents/techlit/OM38-51.pdf

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated or the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, and then just follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

See the PERFORMANCE AND SIZING CHART at the support page and look beside your model (042) for the corresponding performance details, efficiency rating, dimensions, and weight.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Joe.

Coleman 7966-856 Gas Furnace, age & tonnage of it please.

Question edited for clarity, FULL 'make model (what it is)'.

Ascertaining the date is in the link and done from Serial Number. Tonnage is only on AC Units, furnaces are graded by BTU (British Thermal Units), and that is also on the serial label.

What. Square footage is my ac unit model#NAC048AKC3 rated for

serial numbers are useless unless you provide make , model, year of unit and rating
ac units are rated as BTU's, Kw's or tonnage
with out that information there is no way of knowing the volume of a room that the unit would work well in

What is the tonnage of a carrier furnace model number 58gp100-2

It can handle five tons, or a 60000 btu ac. Tonnage is a measurment for the ac, 1 ton-12000 btus. The ac dose the cooling. the furnace simply blows the air, so if its a good furnace, and sized right, no need to replace it. Simply add the split system to the existing furnace. If you want the tonnage of the ac size, let me know your homes squarefootage, age, condition. Do NOT include the basement in the sq. ft.

I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT MY TONNAGE IS.

Look for your model number on your condensor, outdoor unit. Your tonnage will be towards the end of it and divisable by 6. I.E. 36=3tons or 42=3.5tons. Ac units are messured by the half ton. If you have a split system I.E. heater inside and ac outside your system will be 1 - 5 tons. If this doesn't help post your model and serial number. I can then give you tonnage, age, so forth.

Hi there I have a model number for my carrier a/c unit. I need to find out the tonnage. 38ykc042300 Please any help I will be very greatful.

This is a 3 and 1/2 ton unit.
The 042 in the model number is the tonnage of your carrier unit.
AC tonnage is based on 12,000 btu per ton.
12,000.....1 ton
18,000.....1 and 1/2 ton
24,000.....2 ton
30,000.....2 and 1/2 ton
36,000.....3 ton
42,000.....3 and 1/2 ton
48,000.....4 ton
60,000.....5 ton.
There is no 4 and 1/2 ton unit.

What ton is good man ckl 49 il where is the model number onthe furnace

ok ready for this? To find the tonnage look at the serial # Tonnage is related to 12's If there, on the serial # there is say 0062490 the tonnage is 24 or two tons 24 divided by 12 equals 2 Say the serial # contains 0063090 then the tonnage is 2 1/2 because of the 30 hopefully you see what I am saying the number in the serial # if it can be divided by 12 or 6 this is the tonnage. If you will send me the serial number I will tell you the tonnage. The serial number is on the outside unit at the copper connections where the electrical lines go in.

Good luck on your repairs hope this helped send me a note online here and if you need I will give you tonnage if you send the model # and serial number with your response> I will check online around 1500 hours on 1/9/10 central time. Remember to look for the numbers that are divisible by either 12 or 6 on the serial number
