How do I replace the cord?

To replace the cord on an iron, you will need to:
  1. Unplug the iron: Make sure the iron is unplugged and cooled down before attempting to replace the cord.
  2. Remove the cord from the iron: Depending on the model of your iron, you may need to remove a cover or panel to access the cord. Look for any screws or clips that hold the cover in place and remove them using a screwdriver. Once the cover is removed, you should be able to see the cord and the connections to the iron.
  3. Disconnect the cord: Use a pair of pliers or a wire stripper to carefully remove the wire connectors from the cord. Be sure to hold onto the wire connectors so you do not lose them.
  4. Attach the new cord: Follow the steps above in reverse to attach the new cord to the iron. Strip the ends of the wires on the new cord and attach them to the wire connectors. Be sure to connect the wires according to the correct polarity (i.e., positive to positive, negative to negative).
  5. Replace the cover: Once the new cord is attached, replace the cover and secure it with the screws or clips you removed earlier.
  6. Test the iron: Plug in the iron and test it to make sure it is functioning properly.
If you are not comfortable or experienced in electrical repairs, it is recommended to have a professional perform the cord replacement. Tampering with the electrical components of an appliance can be dangerous and can cause damage to the appliance or injury to the user.

I HAVE A BLACK AND DECKER IRON-DIGITAL ADVANTAGE, POWER IN THE IRON GOES ON AND OFF NEED TO KEEP ON HOLDING THE POWER WIRE INTO THE IRON, SO I TRIED TO OPEN THE WIRE SECTION,BUT IT NEED A SPECIAL TOOL TO...

Bring the iron to a Hardware store, ask for a set of tools right for the type of screws (maybe Torx, Security Torx, tri-wing, bristol and others).

Once you can open the iron and access to the cord you may change the power cord. it is easy.

Power goes on & off because the power cord is broken. This failure is very common on irons.

Good luck

Display light does not stay on when I begin to iron; The #1 acrylic flashes off and on when the light is on.

Depending on the models, most irons only have the light on when its heating up and when the thermostart switches off it cut off power and hence the light goes off.

I have two irons. one if them won't turn on anymore and i noticed the light kept fading out. the light on the other one flickers and it stops working halfway through straightening. any solutions?

Most likely it is the power cord. We have the same iron and the power cord has a break in it just as it comes out of the swivel. You can turn it on and hold the power cord tight up against the swivel and it should stay on. I was able to fix it by stripping the cord down to the wire soldering and adding shrink tubing to the connection. That lasted for about 1 year and it has done it again. I may have to replace it but not sure how to take it apart.

Cord

If the iron is still in warranty send it back via the shop where you bought it, the inner wire is frayed and needs replacement, if you know an electrician its as simple as shortening the flex by a few inches and reattaching it again. the inner wires twist with time and become frayed or come loose from connection

Iron won't stay running. I'm pretty sure it's the cord because if you move the cord the power is restored. Would a new cord solve the problem and where do you get a new cord?

With modern iron it can be difficult to renew the cord due to the special screws they use when making them. It does sound like the power cord is damaged. It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

Iron will not go on until you wiggle cord &ball

Rowenta DZ 9050 steam iron must be sent to Rowentas repair service in your area.
Local Fix shops will not work on them.
They have parts only.

Turns on, flashes yellow but never heats up

This is a problem with a lot of Rowenta irons. It is the auto shut off that is not working properly and the only way to fix it is to have it disassembled and the switch hardwired to be on whenever the iron it plugged in. It is a thermal metal switch and it just stops working and then the iron will not turn on and the yellow light blinks.

Power won't come on

You have a short in the cord. If you knew where the short was, you could possibly repair it. However, I would strongly suggest buying a new iron. An iron is an appliance that can burn your house down even when it's in GOOD working order. You should be able to buy a decent iron for around $30, and I would say the peace of mind alone would be worth it. Hope this helps,
Chad
