Hitachi 50V710 The picture is dim, then the bulb went out. I replaced the bulb. all works but the picture is still dim. You can barely see the screen durring the day. And can only use it in a dark room with the daylight setting and the contrast and brightness almost maxed out and is still dim. The picture is sharp but dim. And contrast seems washed out some like the blacks are more grey. but that could just be because I have them turned up so high. Thank you for any solutions Karl

I've seen this in two scenarios.

First: The housing of the bulb is dirty (the lens the bulb lights onto) and the internal screen is dirty also.

The second: The bulb is wired reversely of the proper way to wire it. This will light the bulb, but will not light as bright as when it is wired correctly!

Thank you and please rate!

I replaced the bulb and housing, it plugs in through a front panel all was clean and impossible to put in backwards. The inside screen apears to be clean, the uniformity of the dimness seems like it is not giving enough power to the bulb or something is dirty or not working right before projection

Then what is needed is a new ballast for the DLP bulb you have installed. The bulb is being under powered and this is why you are getting the dimmed look.

Why after i replaced the bulb the picture is still dark?

Are you sure you put the right bulb in ? These need a P22H 120 watt bulb. You CANNOT use an E22H--it has the wrong optical angle. it will work--but WILL be dark.

My head light on my 1998 Chevy malibu went out but when I replace the bulb it still wont work

When you replaced bulb, all wiring and bulb connector looked good,no corrusion, wires not burned or strayed. With dim lights, means just a little power going to light bulb.Did you check the fuse in fuse box, could be a loose connectoion, check both fuses, left and right headlight.swap them out and see,if fuses are good then,it may be the headlight switch, which cost the most. Here's a link on how to replace. Here's the part.

Hitachi LCD M50VS810 -- picture gradually darkened up over the past 4 days and now picture won't come on. Replace bulb?

If it uses a lamp that is possible---sets with a lamp will often dim down just before the lamp fails in a total way.

I have a hitachi 50v710 I replaced the bulb now it wont work

EASY THING TO DO HERE IS REMOVE LAMP and see if it went in perfectly---when you have one problem--then replace a part and have something different usually something happened when you replaced the part.

It is always possible the new part is bad but you should have a different indication of some kind.

Color on tv is not right after we changed the bulb. Model # 50V710

you need a new light engine, very common problem, you could get hitachi to send you the parts no charge if you press them enough, will save you $600 in parts.

You have a bad Ballast. This can be repaired sometimes by replacing the capacitors on the Ballast circuit board.

Installing a lamp in the Hitachi 50V710 projection TV

The lamp is on the bottom left side. Remove the plastic piece that goes across the TV below the screen. It will snap off. No screws. Remove 2 screws to access the lamp carriage.
Make sure you DO NOT touch the new lamp with your bare hands.
