I wish there was a way I could shout this to everyone so they would all know it at once....ALL SO-CALLED "WATERPROOF" POINT AND SHOOT CAMERAS WILL EVENTUALLY LEAK. THIS WILL USUALLY HAPPEN AFTER YOU HAVE TAKEN THOSE "ONCE IN A LIFETIME" PICTURES. The only real underwater cameras are in a special underwater housing.

Olympus stylus tough 6000

There's a low chance of it after the camera started getting hot during the recharge. It sounds like water got past the internal seals, and to dry it out properly will require opening the camera and essentially opening all of the seals to get the water to evaporate. If you leave it closed up, the circuitry inside will corrode.

Meanwhile, there is at least one circuit that already shorted and caused the camera to heat up. There's no way to determine whether anything actually burned out or whether it just needs the water to evaporate.

Hi, After taking the camera snorkling, it seemed to stop functioning. The camera powers up but only shows up a blank screen. It may also sometimes show a camera icon - stating that the "camera...

How deep did you take the camera? The manufacturer website states: WATERPROOF (16FT.). A revolutionary system of waterproof seals and gaskets keeps water out so you can take pictures as deep as 16 feet underwater. If it was deeper than that, the gaskets probably let water in due to the pressure of being underwater. (Basically it means the camera let water in and as such probably will not work right again)

The screen on my olympus u tough-6010 is always black, i can take photos, and turn it on but cant see the screen. PLEASE HELP ! i really enjoy using this camera underwater. i use it carefully, but before...

If the photographs that are taken can be downloaded and viewed on the PC , then the fault is with the LCD screen, If there is a possibility that water has seeped into the LCD and damaged or the LCD is faulty .
To remove will require good care as there is heavy sealing and must be done professionally. take estimate from an Olympus store or use as it is assuming the picture with experience.

How do I charge my Olympus camera? I've gone over the instructions a dozen times, and I just can't get it to work. Please help....

You must use the F-2AC battery charger along with the provided USB cable to charge the battery in the camera. Make sure the cable is inserted fully into the charger and the camera, it can take some force.
To charge the battery outside the camera use the LI-41C battery charger.

Olympus 1030 SW Camera leaked through both the battery door seal and the usb door seal. Did my best to clean it up and dry it out. Camera was finicky in at first. After a day everything work great...

I have the same camera and has the same problem. Mine flooded twice and when I followed the normal dry it out, clean the seals, charge the battery, etc, etc... I was left with a camera that didn't work at all after the second flooding. I returned it to Olympus where they had to replace the motherboard and seals. My dive buddy also has the same camera, dived deeper and has had no problems with his flooding or fowling. Olympus was very good about fixing the problem and returning the camera quickly. If you get fixed or end up buying another underwater camera, I would recommend after each use underwater, especially in saltwater, cleaning the seals and applying very sparing amount of silicon gel on the seals. The gel will help protect the seals and add to the tightness of the seal. But, don't let it cake up in the camera. I use the gel to protect o-rings on underwater video camera housing seals and have had no problems with leaking. You can get the gel at most SCUBA or hardware stores.

Olympus Underwater MJU 795 LEAKS

I have an olympus 770 sw I used to have the same problem... the solution is after using your camera make sure the camera is dry and open the slot for the battery and clean it and do the same for the other slot somtimes youll get small debree in the cracks of your cameras cover for the battery slot thats were the water enters. I use a little bit of vaseline on the rubber pading for the battery cover to lube it out and had no problems sinse.
